We have attended Expressions regionals since year one, and also their Charlotte, NC Convention. Hannah, the owner, is very professional and keeps everything running smoothly. She is very transparent, and goes above and beyond. There was once a venue change (of no fault of their own), and she reached out personally to us studios in attendance, informing us of the venue change and asking our input on the new venue, looking to please everyone - I thought this was so thoughtful, and something that she didn't have to do, but cared enough to do so. Their staff is friendly, and always kind. The atmosphere they have created at their events is like no other. We always leave feeling encouraged and seen, looking forward to our next event with them. Their judges never stop talking, giving us great critiques. We are looking forward to attending again this season at a convention, regionals, and nationals!

There is no integrity at this comp whatsoever. There are so many things I want to write but don’t want to waste a lot of time. I will try to sum it up. Watch the favoritism towards their ambassadors. They actually announce the soloist as an ambassador when they perform. Why on earth is that necessary?? At the end of the night after the teams recompeted the owner and staff disappeared for 45 minutes and came back and it was so obvious what happened. Their ambassadors of course were moved into first if by some chance someone else slipped in. This comp is fairly newer on the scene. Attend at your own risk. The owner gives it away by overcompensating on long stage speeches. She cries quite a bit too. This was a strange comp. I would say to avoid it you don’t want to waste earn hard money. First and last time here. The only great thing about this comp was the venue sadly. Other than that it’s highly political.
Unprofessional and unfair judging. They showed favoritism to big studios and it was very obvious in the way they judged. This is not the experience I expected when coming here. I do not recommend, especially if you are a small studio. I’d say the only part that left my child happy was the improv segment, which still seemed unfair. Come here at your own will.
Overpriced with blatant studio favoritism
