I have always loved attending the Axis Dance Convention! The staff is so welcoming, the instructors are incredibly talented, and the choreography is both inspiring and challenging.

Axis is the most family friendly and exciting dance competition and convention there is. Their staff is amazing and caring for everyone participating in the competition. The teachers and judges are encouraging to all the students and always build up the dancers in their passions and dreams.

AXIS Dance Competition and Convention is such a positive experience for both dancers and teachers. The convention is well organized, the faculty is fantastic, and the training they provide really helps dancers grow. Linda, the owner, fosters a family-like environment that makes everyone feel welcome and supported. I would absolutely recommend AXIS over any other competition or convention!

I wanted to take a moment to commend AXIS Dance Competition for the truly thoughtful and professional experience they provided—not just for our dancers, but for our entire studio community. I hadn’t written a review after our first time attending, but after experiencing other events this season, I now have an even deeper appreciation for the care, detail, and organization that AXIS brings to the table. From the moment we arrived, we noticed how well-staffed the event was. There were team members everywhere, ready to assist with a smile, and it genuinely felt like everyone wanted to be there. Backstage was calm, focused, and managed—never a free-for-all—and that made a world of difference for our dancers. Even during awards, there were extra staff on stage helping the kids stay safe and organized, which I’ve come to realize is not the norm at every competition. The stage itself was beautiful and clean, with a wrinkle-free Marley floor that our dancers loved performing on. The livestream was high quality and reliable—something we can’t take for granted anymore—and the emcee kept the audience informed throughout the weekend. I especially appreciated how they communicated pauses or delays clearly; it removes the anxiety of wondering what’s happening. Award ceremonies were efficient but still celebratory, striking the right balance between honoring the kids’ hard work and keeping the event moving. It’s a hard line to walk, but they do it well. The venue was clean, stocked with basics like toilet paper (it’s the little things!), and felt comfortable and professional from start to finish. When it came to critiques and scoring, even if we didn’t always agree 100% (as is expected in any judged event), it was clear the judges were experienced and offered useful, justified feedback that helped us grow. AXIS gets so many things right—from the big picture to the small, thoughtful details. It’s a competition we look forward to returning to, and one we trust with our dancers.

This is our favorite competition! Organized, professional, and encouraging staff. There are so many fun opportunities at Axis-improv competitions, title competitions, and the Throw-Down. We always leave Axis feeling happy and inspired .

Axis Dance Competition brings some of the best judges to their Competitions. The IDA judges we had last season offered some of the best critiques we have ever had. They were knowledgeable in many styles and really were invested in giving great feedback. The staff was friendly, the competition stage was large, and our dancers had a great time.

This past season we had the pleasure of attending AXIS Dance competition in New Mexico. We were extremely impressed with AXIS! their staff and judges are so welcoming! We also feel their judges are well educated in all dance genres. The scoring was fair, and corrections were stated clearly. Their dance competition director, Linda Diamond, is friendly, dedicated and organized. Our dancers had a fun and production weekend! We really recommend that you sign up for AXIS and have a great competition weekend with them.

The Staff are friendly and treat you like family, they seem to genuinely care about dancer growth, the judges critiques are practical and helpful, and the Free Master classes really complete the experience of a competition weekend.
