We have attended this competition and convention a few times. There are several things that our group really liked about it- the convention classes were small with great choreography, the awarding of title winners at the Rec and advanced level allowed recognition for more dancers, the size of the competition was great. Everything ran smoothly and staff were very accommodating. The last time we attended though- there seemed to be one studio that was favored- and it turns out some of the staff from this convention are also teachers at this studio. Definite conflict of interest here!

Small but wonderful competition! The convention before was also great. Skip\'s portion of the convention was absolutely amazing. My daughter loved it. We had a great weekend even though Skip has a small staff. They all worked hard to make everything move smoothly and were very good with all the dancers involved.
My daughter loved the energy and the awards given at this competition. It was her first year and she really loved this one.
My daughter has been to several competitions and conventions the last few years. By far this is her favorite. The staff is excellent. The judging is fair. Its not overcrowded. Skip and his staff always try and keep things on schedule. They try to accommodate everybody\'s needs. It\'s not commercialized. 10 Stars Thank you NYLA for giving our kids encouragement and confidence to move to the next level.
Over the years we have attended this competition at the regional and National level. The staff has always been wonderful. It is one my daughters always looked forward to attending so they could meet up with friends from other studios. It is still relatively a small organization and has some things to work out but not bad as some others we have attended over the years.
Did the competition two years ago and loved it! Last year the dates did not work. Looking forward to this competition this year. Small and run very well!
