My daughter danced at the competition in Ashland, OH on 5/1/2016. I have always liked Extreme Talent because of the qualified talented judges. I am a gymnastic judge and I appreciate an expert\'s \"eye\" along with fair evaluations. However: I was very disappointed in the overall judging and evaluations. I believe there was a specific judge whom was a \"tap\" judge. Ironically, the teen and senior solo overall winners were both tap solos. I feel all three judges should be non specific to a category. That would make the judging more fair to all the dancers. The tappers had the advantage at this competition. I would suggest finding out who the judges are and their backgrounds, before attending the competition.
i attended this competition as a competitor and it was poorly run. small stage, little discipline in the order numbers competed, and decent critiques. judges didn\'t comment much on technicality, mostly gave compliments which were not beneficial. staff was nice at venue but had little respect for parent communication before and after event. faculty teachers were friendly and welcoming which was refreshing, but that was the only good thing. a small company that could be decent if they organized admins and operations and had better venues and critiques.
This is my favorite dance competition by far!!!! The staff was very friendly and understanding when it came to costume changes, questions etc.... I attended their 2015 regional competition in Morgantown, WV. It was a very great experience. Their judging was fair and i loved the creative special judges awards that they gave out also. After the awards ceremony they had workshops available. I participated in the lyrical workshop taught by Sir Alex the great. Haha. He was fantastic. After the workshop we talked to hin a little and he complimented me on my choreography. ( i choreographed a routine andit was the academy level highest score) this competition was amazing and i cant wait to go back to it again in 2016!!!!!
Please get a tap judge.
This competition is by far one of the most fun competitions that my studio attends. They provide SYTYCD judges & offer fun workshops for the kids. They aren\'t about making money, but making a great experience for everyone in attendance. We have competed at extreme from the start & plan to continue until the end ❤️
Great competition! Awesome judges!
This competition is by far one of my favorites to attend! I danced myself for 15 years and I now have a child to compete and this is the most family oriented, fun and professional competition I\'ve attended! I will always be sure to return each year!
My daughter has danced at competitins for going on her 4th year. This is by far her favorite one!! We love Extreme Talent!! *****
Competition jumped around all day was disappointed all of the age groups for solos were combined for overalls by divisions and also disappointed with ribbons as awards for overalls. Critiques didn\'t match scores not tap friendly.
very professional and very friendly staff!!
This competition had the potention to be a great one with good judges, workshops, and scholarships. However, it needs to be better organized overall. The website is not very informative leaving alot to interpretation. In addition, there are no details on Nationals aside from date leading you to believe it is not a big deal and no different than regionals.
inconsistant judging. Very disorganized
Great Competition. Judges have a question and answer session before awards with the dancers. Ran on schedule and staff is VERY helpful and accommodating. If you are fortunate to have a mini convention at your city after the competition your dancers will love the interaction and instruction from the judges.
