We love Royal! The kids love all the social media posts and seeing themselves. They do a great job of making sure everyone is seen. The special awards back stage is just as effective amd saves time so awards are not 5 years long. Thank you.

Royal is a super fun competition! The team all loved the weekend. The staff gave away Royal keys & a fish for each studio! Love the Royal merch too!

This competition did a stellar job. In short: ran on time, great staff, great job at uplifting the dancers while giving them solid feedback, complimentary photos/videos, accommodated scheduling requests, good communication, gave a cell phone number for the competition director to studio staff, etc. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pros: The competition ran on time and the backstage staff were incredible. They introduced themselves to our teachers and remembered us. They knew which dressing rooms our dancers were in and came to find them five or so numbers beforehand so we didn't even have to keep track of progress if we didn't want to. The competition had a really cute practice of giving out special unofficial judges' awards. A backstage staff member came up to several of our routines as they walked back to their dressing room, read off some special judges' feedback, handed them an award, and took a picture in front of the RDC backdrop. These awards seemed designed to hype up some of our younger or more nervous dancers based on who got them. Our minis loved it! The adjudication seemed very fair and the judges' feedback solid. Dressing rooms were plentiful and spacious, with an above average amount of table space. Merchandise was priced more reasonably than most competitions I've seen. I really appreciated that this competition gives complimentary photos and videos. They were able to accommodate our scheduling requests and they were very understanding about us altering the schedule at the last minute because some of our routines weren't ready due to illness. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Neutral: They have an unusual adjudication system. Blue Diamond, Diamond, Ruby, etc. which seems to roughly correspond to Diamond, Platinum, High Gold at other competitions. It caused a bit of a scramble to check what each gem meant at awards. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cons: Docked a star on communication for a few minor snafus. We received the schedule a couple days later than originally estimated without an update in the meantime (apparently a studio pulled out and they had to restructure). It was still received over a week in advance and within the time frame they guarantee on their website. At awards they announced an entry number wrong for a judges' award (they transposed two digits and due to the aforementioned unofficial judges' awards one of our dancers thought it meant her). In fairness, they got the routine name correct and our dancer sat back down shortly after standing up and before walking forward. The venue was large and there was no signage indicating the event was downstairs from the lobby. Like many competitions they have waivers for the parents to sign, but for some reason we didn't get them (I'm not sure if they never sent them or if they got lost somehow). They came to us in the dressing room to fill them out right after an awards session so most of our team had just left. They initially asked us to have them come back, but were understanding when we said it wasn't happening. They then asked us to fill them out online, but didn't seem to have a clear idea how we could accomplish that or where online we should do it. In the end, they just asked us to have our afternoon session parents fill them out. Bit odd, but they didn't push it or make their mistake our problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All in all, we have a new favorite and we'll definitely be back!

amazing competition! awesome staff, nice energy, fair scoring and overall a really quite fun time! definitely looking forward to going to conventions/other competitions this year!

Looking forward to competing in Poughkeepsie NY in March. Have participated previously. Very professional staff, runs on time. Our dancers love this comp, always fun and engaging! The judging is fair, with encouraging and productive feedback.

Overall amazing! Staff is excellent! The competition was ran great! Defiantly recommended!
