We've been to Imagine several times. We love the event and the caliber of talent it attracts. The Imagine staff is friendly and helpful.
We attended Imagine Dance Challenge Nationals in Nashville and it was one of my least favorite Nationals we've ever attended (after 15 years of competition dance). The good- The competition ran very on time and seemed well organized. They did a nice recognition of the senior dancers. The bad- The solo room was awful. The dancers danced on the floor in front of a judges table so we couldn't see our dancers at all. There were also large columns in the middle of the room to further impede view and the floor was very small. AWFUL!!! The group room was in a building in the parking lot. It was just one big room. No concessions. No where to practice. The stage was fine, but if you sat in a chair you couldn't see well. The lights were on in the room. Everyone was talking and not paying attention. Just not a nice place to watch dance. The event was also extremely crowded so there really were not enough chairs. The kids could not all go on stage for awards. The award ceremonies were short- which is often nice, but they just didn't give out a lot of awards. It definitely was not a "feel good" nationals. Not a lot of interaction between the competition and the kids. It was really all just very forgetable- sad since it was my child's last nationals.
First competition of the year and we loved them. They were just all around amazing and we will definitely be back!
I attended Imagine Nationals 2018 in Hershey Park, PA! The event in general was amazing and fun! The venue was average. The layout was odd, and the solo stage was smaller and mediocre. Other than that I loved the venue being right near the park (Hershey Lodge is the venue.) The judges are great. The staff is extraordinary! The staff at Imagine are some of my favorite dance competition people! They made the competition so much more enjoyable. Awards were always incredible. The only complaint about the competition itself, is that one stage would run early, and the other one would run late. So if you had a routine at lets say Stage 1 at 10:00, and a routine at Stage 2 at 10:20, Stage 1 would be running late, and Stage 2 would be running early so you had barely any time to change and get ready. Luckily the competition is understanding and accommodating so it didn't affect the overall experience I had. Overall, this has been my favorite competition I've ever been to.
I attended Imagine in April 2018 at the Sussex County Vo-Tech in Sparta, NJ. The venue was beautiful and spacious. The boys dressing room was mediocre, but it didn't take away from the competition in my opinion. The judges are awesome, and the staff were amazing. The staff at Imagine are so amazing to be around, they make the experience at Imagine so much better. The awards always run smoothly, the atmosphere of the competition is good and overall Imagine is one of my favorite competitions to attend!
Loved this competition! Judging seemed fair and consistent. The Emcee was awesome! Loved his attitude. Would definitely want to attend this competition in the future!
It was really fun and smooth running
