Really try to like this competition, but each year something keeps me from enjoying it. The venue has two stages they use. One large well lit stage, and another VERY small dark stage. If you get the big stage, awesome. The little stage is terrible. You can't even see the dancers very well bc judges heads, speakers, and the photography equipment is all in the view of the stage. All photos had the top of a judge's head in them too. This is the first comp I didn't buy videos at bc the stage was so dark you can't even see half of the routine. Critiques are not helpful, just a few comments here and there and that is if you actually get sound on your critiques. Several of our critiques came to us with zero sound. Scoring is all over the place. If your dancer has a lot of tricks, turns, and jumps...you'll do well. Some of the solos showcased incredible technique, but didn't place in overalls bc they didn't include "wow" factors like 10 a la secondes or big acro tricks. Everything is dated from the website to the awards they give. I just can't justify the cost anymore. Not for what it is...we don't even get all of our critiques. Too many other amazing competitions in the area. I will say this...the competition always runs on time and seems pretty organized while you are there. Staff is usually pretty friendly too. If you are new to competition, this is a good experience, but if you've been around for a couple of years it's not really worth the money.

Competition owner and staff were super sweet and great to work with however, the judging was out of control. Our critiques for all of our routines had maybe 3 sentences and our dances were all over the place with the results. At awards they gave everyone a platinum when clearly not everyone should win a platinum including some of my dances. I had dancers getting platinums when they should have had a gold and others that clearly should have received Elite platinum and placed in the overalls like they did at every other competition we went to all year. I am a judge myself and clearly there were amazing dancers with great movement quality that did not make it in to the top 15 because they actually danced movement and didn\'t do triple leg spins with fully rhinestoned costumes in 10 different dances. Judge the dancers and give them what they deserve. It is no fun when every one gets a platinum and no critiques. Parents pay a lot of money to get critiques to help their dancers grow.
Not a fan of the venue and the two stages. A few times we had only a few minutes to change and then race to the high school next door for another number. It\'s a HUGE regional and draws a lot of the smaller studios as their nationals are local too- which is great seeing dancers you don\'t get to see often- but there\'s just SO MANY! It\'s too big. 4 days and two stages non stop is exhausting.

Very organized and professional competition. We had a great time.
This was our first year to this competition. It was small but it ran smoothly and on time. It was well organized and they made all the dancers and studios feel loved and welcomed. I look forward to this comp again next time.
We enjoyed it
This comp is a little old fashioned. It\'s an ok place to get stage time for your dances but be prepared for wacky result. If your dances are more modern and up to date with current dance trends they probably won\'t do as well. This comp likes cute, old school stuff and very modest costumes.
We had a great experience with Dance Showcase at both Regionals and Nationals. It is very well organized and the judges made some helpful remarks. Thank you for a positive competition experience!
FUN!!! And the staff is very caring and sweet to the children. We come back year after year. Convenient venues, great energy!
We had a horrible experience with this competition. We may have come home with top honors but we did not enjoy the experience. The director was very abrasive and did not handle herself in a professional manner. After 3 years of dominating this competition, we will not be returning. Ever.
This is overall a good competition. Their critiques can be a bit vague, very good for first timers, they like to build confidence and be very positive. Their nationals are more like a big regional comp. It is very well organized and all of the staff are easy to work with.
