Great Competition, I've watched my granddaughter dance competitive for years. I like the way this competition runs. The awards are quick and they make everybody feel important. They get trophies not just pins. Love the plaque's my granddaughters room looks amazing with them on display. Just as a spectator I like the way we are treated in the auditorium and find that it runs usually a head of schedule and love that if I can't make the comp I can watch it on a live feed. Definitely one of my favorite competitions to attend.

I'm a studio owner/choreographer/competitive judge and parent of a competitive dancer and have been participating in competitive dance for over 30+ years . Dance Champs has always exceeded my expectations. I have through the years counted on the judges' critiques to be helpful, insightful and non-toxic. So much so that I let my parents hear the critiques at the same time that I do, knowing that the critique will be at the highest level of professionalism and will hold content that will help my dancers improve their talents. We have traveled to other cities when their is a conflict in making our cities regional. My dancers and parents love the trophies, money awards, crowns for the title participants, and the new way awards are handed for solo performance making the awards ceremony super efficient. Overall, I recommend "Dance Champs Events" which has earned my loyalty.
Terribly unorganized. Their rules in the website differ from what actually happens at the competition. Awards are so unorganized and hard to follow. Judges took several extensively long breaks. Would not recommend (not a disgruntled parent as my daughter won first place and took home the top award) just trying to help other parents
We went to the one in KC!!This was really great the only thing i would have to say i didnt like was the fact that that instead of having to stages we had to go on a school day.
Our studio attended this comp in 2013 and we are going back in 2014. It is a smaller competition than the others we go to, so a nice way to ease into/start our competitive season. The photography/videography was terrible, way to far back and bad timing, but not expensive. I hated the venue in Kansas City...we had to walk all over the place in costume and through a gym that was being used, and through a slippery hallway to get to the stage, which was also really slippery (scary for all those jumps and turns. After the first few numbers, our studio started wetting the bottoms of dancers shoes. And we will be bringing resin for tap.). The dressing room was waaay too crowded, which I hope they remedy this year since we told them about it! The fees are cheaper than the bigger competitions, which is nice. I was very disappointed by the judges commentary, or should I say lack there of. My daughter competed a very nice ballet solo, and by looking at the judges qualifications, I think that they may have refrained from any critiques because they didn\'t have the background to know what to say! My daughter\'s ballet teacher said after listening to critiques and watching the video, that the only judge who did try to talk obviously didn\'t know what she was talking about. Due to it being cheaper and smaller, which is good for our little 4 year olds to start with, we are giving it another chance!
This competition cancelled 2 years ago 2011-2012 in my area without if advertising this news! This totally wrecked my competition season.
Only reason this competition is getting 2 stars instead of 1 is the judging and critiques, they were excellent. The venue was too small. There were not enough dressing rooms. Teams were changing in the hallways and stairwells, really anywhere they could find a spot. Not really fun when men are walking the halls and girls are changing. The rules page you receive before hand made our girls scared to even cheer on their teammates in fear of being marked down or disqualified. The pictures were so far away you couldn\'t even see the kids faces. Also, the competition ran over a hour behind.
