Our best. most positive regional competition of the year! Well organized, professional, great judges, the friendliest staff, and the best value! Media is free, our dance families loved the price points for programs, apparel, etc. Our dancers loved the awards too - we've been getting some odd types of objects lately at other regionals for awards. Thank you Diva team!

My studio attended their Albany regionals and Hyannis Nationals. At regionals, the live criticism helped us prepare in perfect in a more personal way. At Nationals, it wasn't very fitting considering the judges say "have more energy when you do it again", implying we were going to get in the showcase, which we did not. Speaking of the showcase, not including a production that the judges said were going to be in the showcase, were not put in because of a PROP that took TOO LONG to set up (literally 2 minutes). Judges scoring is the main issue why I rated this competition 3 stars. At regionals, the scoring was way off considering a dance from my studio that had almost a perfect score at every other competition (290-299) was given a 240. My studio owner contacted this competition, and Diva came back saying that one of the judges was FIRED within the time they contacted them. At Nationals, the judging was favored towards musical theatre hands down. AND FINALLY during awards, they went out one place. ONE PLACE. One place, and said nothing about the other places. At nationals, they promised to go out at least 5 places in each category, which didn't happen. All they did 2nd-5th was announce the dance and have the people in the dance give a wave. A WAVE. For all that hard work, a wave didn't cut it. I would say if you had the choice, to not attend this competition and attend another one with fair judging and actual awards.

Unorganized. Inconsistent scoring. Please at least try to standardize scoring, atleast a little. Bronze, Silver High silver, Gold, High Gold, and Platinum or Elite or whatever you want to call your high score but come on. Love critiques are great but please make them constructive. Don’t just say it was so good! And then give a low score. Explain why. Not a fan

This is a great comp for intermediate level teams. There is very little elite competition, so if you complete elite there won't be much competition for you. Staff is very nice, and comp is run well. A nice "feel good" competition.

I can't stress enough how kind the owners and staff are to everyone all weekend long. They are in the business for the right reason! The judging was superb from the novice to the elite division. They offered useful, level appropriate, constructive critiques to all of our dancers. The judges even remembered first names and previous routines and made the dancers feel valued. Just that act alone gave their feedback more weight than they will ever know. Can't say enough kind things!

Great comp. Judging very fair. Good for the smaller studios who aren't ultra competitive. Do wish they would give out more than 1st place though. At least top 5 for solos and duets.

Very dancer-focused, not flashy and \"commercial\" like many others. Not rushed at all, could switch around numbers to accommodate dancers who were in multiple acts. Live judging was fabulous. they were right on the mark. Very positive and upbeat judging, with very constructive criticism. Would definitely recommend. Just wish they gave out more than just first place.

First time attending this competition. Great staff, loved the live judging! Scores and comments were uploaded quickly after the event. Interested in attending again!

We have been going to this comp for 4 years. The first two years we attended, only the very best dancers received ultimate sapphire or sapphire, which are their two highest trophies. This year it seemed like almost everyone got ultimate sapphire and sapphire including sub-par dancers. Furthermore, there is too little emphasis on technique by the judges. The same dancers competed at another local comp less than a month earlier. Three of the top four students in one of the divisions at DDC didn\'t even place in the top ten at the other comp. DDC also lets dancers compete against themselves such that one time the same dancer won the title and third runner up in the same division at the same comp.

Had an awesome experience at this comp this weekend.....while my dancer was intimidated by the concept of Live Judging, it turned out to be her favorite part of the competition ....the judges were amazing , they really know their stuff & pass on corrections & critiques in a manner that puts the dancers completely at ease. We hope to do this comp earlier in the season next year so the judges suggestions can be put to good use. Comp ran on time, pictures are free,merchandise very reasonably priced...our studio loved everything about it!!!!

Did DDC for the 2nd year in a row and must say it\'s our new FAVE! Great critiques from PROFESSIONAL JUDGES (Impact dance Adjudicators). Scoring was definitely fair throughout the entire event! I love that they have 3 categories: Apprentice (Rec), Corps (Competitive), and Elite (Advanced Competitors) since some students came from studios with over a decade of competition experience as well as being home schooled to focus solely on dance. I think it\'s wonderful that these phenomenal dancers have the appropriate category to compete in! A MUST TRY!

Best competition I have ever been to! The live judging was a very positive unique experience I was able to take their corrections and improve my other routines! It was a very well run competition the owners, judges, and staff members were so nice and genuine. I especially like the free photos offered on their facebook page definitely something you will not find at any other competition. I will be attending this competition again in the future!

Not one bad thing to say about this comp!!! From the positive yet helpful feedback to the incredible staff, best compeptition my daughter has attended by far! The judges were extremely qualified and gave incredible critiques. The day was very organized, and the times were not crazy for the dancers (not too early in the morning, not too late at night). LOVE how happy and easy-going the environment is! Also LOVE how it\'s for a charity!! The staff was incredibly helpful, pleasant, and kind to both the parents and dancers! I highly recommend this competition for everyone! Amazing, well done diva! So excited to come back next year.

Are there negative stars because there was a clear studio favoritism and so unorganized. They advertise about posting pictures on Facebook so you get them for free and they lost everything from Saturday. (Burlington 2014)

Great competition! Love the cause and the live judging! Only complaint would be to be a bit more specific in terms of scoring. For instance, for some routines, we\'d hear nothing but GREAT COMPLIMENTS and at most 1-2 corrections. But come time to get the trophy, it would be an Ultimate Diamond which is one of their lowest. This didn\'t happen often but when it did, it was hard to understand why. Besides that, great weekend with lots of freebies!

INCREDIBLE comp!!! Can\'t say enough good things. The owners and judges were so well qualified and positive. The live judging was helpful to everyone and allowed the dancers to improve in mere minutes. Also gave out free water bottles to all dancers and all pictures were free and posted on Facebook the same day..,UNHEARD OF at other comps. Much of the proceeds go to charity which is so awesome. It\'s impossible for anyone to be negative while attending this comp, which makes for a wonderful and inspiring event. It was a smaller comp but will only grow because it is so great. Schedule was received over a week early. Awards were short because of the live judging and were really helpful for our studio in particular because we didn\'t have to worry about handing out the pins to each dancer while sitting on stage...they were handed out immediately following the routine. Only thing at awards were overalls, special awards, and titles. Loved being able to hear each judges opinion of a routine because it is tough to figure out what they\'re thinking based solely on written comments . Always positive but intelligent critiques. Just a great learning experience overall and a fun day. TRY THIS COMP you will not regret it!!!!

Very unique experience!! After each routine performs, you get LIVE IMMEDIATE feedback from the judges and your individual award!! So cool! Great to see students take the feedback and apply in their very next routine. Judges were very qualified and technical. Awards at the end of the day are only overall high scores so very quick. Highly recommend this experience for your dancers.
