Chicago Dance Connection is always enjoyable to attend. The faculty is top notch and the classes are well ran. The competition this past year was pushed to all one night which worked out well. Venue leaves a little to be desired as it is getting old and dated.

Another great summer at Chicago Dance Connection! My daughters both enjoyed the classes and my oldest had a great time competing. We will definitely be back next summer.
My daughter did Chicago Dance Connection her first year on her comp team. It was fantastic. She had a great time and learned so much in her classes. The resort was nice and being close to Chicago gave us options for evening outings. All in all it was a great weekend and something we would definitely do again should the opportunity present itself.
I love this convention. I have been going scence I was a kid and now take my students there.
The convention is great and the dancers all learn a lot throughout the weekend. They have a great teaching staff and the ballrooms are not super crowded; there is always room to dance. I would give the convention 5 stars. rnAs for the competition, the judges always give great feedback and the staff is super nice and easy to work with. However, the competition is sub par. They use a ballroom floor, not marley, so it is very slippery for tap and ballet. There are only two age divisions, 12 and under and 13 and up, which is awful for our little dancers who have no shot of winning. They do overalls based off of the style of dance, not group size or age. So they give our 3rd, 2nd, and 1st overall for tap, ballet, jazz, etc... They only give out pins for the dances and plaques for the overalls. No judges awards at all and they only give out two trophys (along with two cash awards) for best choreography and best of show. It is a super relaxed competition, and usually about 50 entries per age division (so very small).
