COMPETITION DETAIL

We were so excited to do this competition until we acutally made it to the location. The venue was VERY SMALL and we had props nothing out of the ordinary just power wheels car, chairs, and etc. They had no way for us to get the item on to the stage unless we walk them on to the front of the stage which was ridiculous. Then when it comes to the judging of the event if you are not in the highest rating which is Triple S (advance) its like they don't even recognize you. My girls were is the double S (intermediate) and they just skipped over them; stating awards such as plaques and metals go to the advance girls. So then I began to wonder what am I paying for because every other competition recognizes everyone from novice to advance. Judging was just as bad it made me feel like I was at a park district competition. They sat up high in the back; how can you see the girls tech, and feet if you are not close to them. How can you judge them fairly if you cannot get a clear view of the girls. I just believe this competition is a complete waste on money and time. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR TEAM TO THIS COMPETITION UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY A LOT OF MONEY FOR A PARK DISTIRCT COMPETITION UNDER LIGHTS.

A National Champion gets a plague (really). For all of the money that parents spend to attend a National you would think that they could award the dancers better.

I am going to make an addendum to my previous post, below. The competition posted, today, that they stripped the girls of their awards. I am glad of this, but it should have been done, immediately. It\'s almost a week later. I will give 4 stars, now, instead of one, for this reason. .............. I would give a 5 but they allowed their own rules to be broken when some contestants made racial slurs, on the microphone, against a school with students of color, and the competition did not strip them of their awards. Their rules state that they will not put up with unsportsmanlike behavior, but I guess if you are a big school that brings in big bucks, the rules do not apply.

We have been to Triple S over and over and always have a blast. They have a fun, professional environment that is nice for both the parents and kids. Our regional competitions have always been in a wonderful venue and everything has always run smoothly and on time. Nationals was held in a boy so great venue for 2015 but thankfully they have changed the location for 2016!

The most entertaining competition we attended. Professionally run. Great judges and the emcees got the kids involved and kept them entertained. Loved the backstage cameras!

My team had the most fun at this competition out of the 9 we went to! The emcee/DJ\'s were great and made the awards ceremonies a BLAST, they even took a selfie with my girls afterward! The staff was FABULOUS, very kind and helpful from when we checked in to when we left. Another thing I really appreciated as a coach was that they had assigned dressing rooms for each team and also had a coaches only room with snacks etc. (which was wonderful to have). Well organized. Fair scoring. The only thing I didn\'t like was that they didn\'t give audio critiques/scores like most all competitions do. They hand wrote comments/critiques/scores etc. which means the judges had to look down at their sheets throughout the routines, they are only 2 minute dances. you never know what they could have missed. On the other hand for a couple of our dances one of the judges didn\'t write any critiques at all, feedback is important to us so that was a little disappointing. However the positives much outweigh the negatives and we will be back this season!

This was a great competition. They give each person a trophy if you are in a duet or trio, which I think is nice. Awards don\'t take forever, and things ran on time, except when the large groups danced, which I think is due to a lot of props. My one complaint is that there are too many catagories. If you look at the program, sometimes there is only 1 dance or 2 dances in a catagory, and then you get the first/second place award, but the catagories are so small, that sometimes you aren\'t really competing against many other dancers. It kind of makes the placements generic. This competition went off without a hitch considering the original venue had double booked and Triple S, had to find other accomodations. It was a fun weekend, and the judges,MC and rest of the staff do a wonderful job.

One of our family\'s favorite competition each year. Very organized, professionally run, personable staff, reasonable costs and very family friendly. Great feedback from the judges, constructive and detailed. We look forward to attending both the regionals & nationals each year.

Such wonderful staff, very professionally run, great constructrive feedback from the judges, positive & fun competition environment for the dancers, and overall family friendly! Would highly recommend being a part of this experience - great for first timers as well as seasoned competitors.

It was a fun, organized and positive competition. The Emcee was very positive and encouraged the dancers to clap for everyone! The dressing room was in the cafeteria. We danced early, so I didn\'t see any issues with space. It was fun seeing a few dances to be invited back for an encore. The awards are a bit different than other competitions we have attended. I would have liked more dancers in our categories (dance over 3 hours). In one instance our dancers competed against themselves, therefor receiving a 1st place award. Thankfully this dance also took 1st place overall for the division so we knew they did well. Also the Solo/Duo stage needs to be lifted much higher. We couldn\'t see the dancers bodies in full, from the back of the area.

I really liked this comp. Good facility and when we needed more dressing room space they opened up another room for us. They ran on time, or even ahead. The scoring seemed good and fair. Not a lot of triple stars were given out, so it have a little more meaning when you got one. Staff was positive and friendly. The best part? They sent out the schedule TWO WEEKS ahead of time!!! My only complaint was when they announced awards they announced the award first, and then the group name. Sometimes by the time I\'d figured out it was our studios song they called out I\'d forgotten the score they got. It would make more sense to announce the name of the dance first.

Great competition in the upper Midwest. The staff are professional and it is a fun experience for the dancers.

Fun friendly staff and they stay on time. My daughter has attended TSDC for a few years now, their contest gets better and better every year. My husband always loves to attend this one too and really likes the cost. He always says TSDC is fun for the dancers and the audience. They run a great contest and we always look forward to that weekend!
