I am hesitant to write this because I know they are in the process of transitioning, however this was the worst experience I have had with a competition and I have been taking my kids to competitions for over 20 years. On the positive end, the venue was great, the dressing rooms were very spacious and I loved the preparation area backstage. There was also a lot of parking at the venue which we have had trouble with at other competitions. Unfortunately everything else was bad. The communication prior to, during, and after the event was delayed and last minute. The day of the event was very unorganized with kids not knowing what awards were being called, which routines were being called. This company also allowed everyone, regardless of skill, to compete at the recreational level. This was very annoying for myself and other studio owners who I spoke with who honestly signed dancers up for the proper categories. My higher skilled dancers had little to no competition and my recreational dancers were overshadowed by dancers who were way above there skill level. The judges feedback was nothing but personal opinions based on the idea or type of dance. There was no feedback on the dancers techniques or skillsets. Very disappointing experience.

Decided to attend this comp at the last minute. First let me just say the director Caroline and the rest of the staff are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met at a comp! I think that’s where my love for this comp stops sadly. If you want to attend a comp where everyone gets a participation trophy and high adjudications are given out to every dancer (even the ones who fall on stage and have horrible technique) just to make your dancers feel good then this is the comp for your studio! I personally don’t agree with it but I guess this place just doesn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. I personally would rather have my child walk away with nothing and learn that they need to earn an award and that nothing is going to be handed to you in life. Judging was all over the place and made absolutely no sense but again no one walks away with nothing so every child will feel good when they leave. Hair pieces were flying out of kids hair and everyone seemed to notice but the judges. The next child was allowed to dance before they were alerted about the items on stage. Were these judges even paying attention? Two kids came off stage and their feet were bleeding at one point. How did that happen? Awards are decent but trophys should not be given to places 1-5. When did that become a thing? Judges awards were given at Regionals but not Nationals. Really? If our studio owner ever says we have to attend this comp again, I would flat out refuse to let my child go.
We have been attending this comp for 3 years and have absolutely no complaints. The communication is very clear everyone is super friendly and the judging is consistent! Highly recommend
This is our studio\'s favorite competition ever! We love the overall atmosphere and Caroline makes sure every dancer feels special! The judges are fair and the kids always have a good time. Southeast always runs on schedule and there\'s no stress! It\'s a stress-free, fun, one day event that I would recommend for any studio (especially good for 1st timers)
We have been to quite a few competitions - but I think this is the most well-run competition we have seen. The staff was friendly. They were on time. They had plenty of space for the dancers to change. Overall a very pleasant experience!
Our dance studio attends this competition every year. Wonderful experience.
We have been to this competition the last two years in Farmville, Virginia. It was our first competition ever!! My daughter had a wonderful experience and loves the world of competition now. She loves every opportunity she gets to be on stage and perform!!! Thank you for such a wonderful introduction to the world of Dance Competitions!!!
