I felt this was a well ran competition - it ran on time for the most part and the scoring felt fair. I do wish we could purchase trophies and there was a better selection of merchandise vendors. I did feel that hip hop numbers didn\'t place as well as normal but that happens from time to time

We have done two Move comps and we like it alot. Well run, lots of fun and a very good time. The dance off can go a little long and my criticism is that you will see dances in the dance off that did not finsh tops in their category. This does give all studios a chance to participate in the dance off but you wont see the best routines from the comp. Its more of a showcase than a dance off
The dance parents in our studio absolutely loved this competition, which we attended for the first time this year. Interesting aspects: Dancers under 11 compete in the first part of the day only; 12 - 15 goes next; and the seniors after that. Stops you from having to be there for 12 hours! They combine ages as well. 12 and 13 year olds are in the same class, going head to head without the judges knowing who is what age. GREAT way for 12 year olds to test their stuff! The judges feedback at awards was very detailed but I didn\'t appreciate the few times they called someone out for doing something wrong. That was unnecessary. For the most part though they had interesting things to say instead of the standard \"you were so AWESOME!\" Move also has a great Dance-Off idea, where the studio\'s top performances by age division and type (solo, d/t, group) make it regardless of where they finished. This gives dancers who rarely make a danceoff a chance to compete in this exciting environment. And each group gets feedback from the judges immediately after dancing. Perhaps most of all, we all appreciated Shawn Desman and the energy he brought. A Canadian music celebrity, he was warm, approachable and highly involved in his own competition. He swept the floor and posed for autographs. All of our team parents hope to go back to Move next season. (Note: I\'m from Ontario but Canadians can\'t get an account so I used MA).
