Pretty sure they are closed. Had some friends that got burned pretty bad by these guys

Under no circumstance should you give this company money. Cancelled another competition and took the money.....
Detroit 2017. Pros. Venue was great. Definitely clean and large enough. The staff was super fun. They really wanted everyone to have a good time. I think the judging was fair, but tough. Few Diamonds given out. I like that you have to earn it. I also like the "bump" rule and that you enforced it. That shows integrity. Things ran pretty smoothly and a little bit early. Thank you for having judges with Tap in their bio. All three!!! A first in my 8 years of attending comps. Your social media presence before, during and after was also spot on. Our kids loved it. Best comp on social media for sure. Cons. The blue stage lighting made all the dancers blue in the pics and videos. I bought some pics. They were really good and cheap, except for that lighting. Unfortunately, this comp didn't attract many studios. I was a day and a half long. My kids groups competed against one other studio. Maybe because you are a newer comp? Or maybe because it was Mothers Day weekend? One last thing. Please get that schedule out faster.
Communication was awful. We will never attend this competition again.
The judging in general is decent and fair, and the kids like the awards. The same, however, could be said for most all the other competitions we attend, so that isn't anything that sets them apart from other competitions, and just doesn't outweigh the negatives of this competition. We've gone to this comp 3 years in a row now, and we typically only receive the schedule about 3 days before the competition starts (Tuesday when comp starts on Saturday.) EVERY other comp we attend has it out at LEAST a full week in advance, if not more. Our location had been sold out prior, so no idea why the schedule comes out so late, but as a parent this just isn't acceptable. They've also held this competition at 3 different locations in MN in 3 different years, and I've hated all of them. This year, they were at a college where some dressing rooms were in a SEPARATE building (and it's MN, there was literally a blizzard hitting several parts of MN the Sunday night of the comp.) Theater had NO center aisles which made seating difficult, and although they had a nice large balcony, they refused to open it, even though the seating that was open at the venue could not hold all the spectators. You had to push just to get through all the people trying to watch from the doorways. During large groups our girls were told they could not go to and from their dressing room because they had too many people backstage waiting, and our girls would have to walk through them to get to the dressing room. Never gone to any other comp that manages to choose such awful venues that many years in a row. I keep hoping that one of these years we won't have to attend, but unfortunately as parents we don't get a say.
We LOVED Next Level in Minneapolis this year. The only complaint I have is how late the final competition schedule was sent out. Parents and Teachers would like more than 3 days to plan for the event. Otherwise an amazing experience. Judging was stiff, yet, fair! The judges really rewarded good technique VS just tricks.
Our studio attended the Downey Regionals and the San Diego Nationals. I honestly could not think of one bad thing to say about this competition! From the staff, to the organization of the event, to the awards, to the judging and critiques..everything was great! I look forward to attending this competition again next season.
Comp itself was awesome! Dancers had a great time ;-) Venue for Nationals was horrible! Nothing for kids to do between dance events (or their siblings), limited food (dancers were unable to purchase unless they were 18 - sandwich, hotdog or Starbucks) and there is nothing around the hotel to go to or other restaurants to enjoy. We were really trapped for 4 days! Hopefully NextLevel can find a better more kid friendly location next year.
Love Next Level! The oversized medals are the best and the kids love them!
We are excited to go back to Next Level!
The whole competition was great from the judges, awards, and time frame. It stayed on time. The only part I did not like was the Venue. The dressing area was not laid out well, there was no where to practice, and the school did not have air conditioning so it was literally 100 degrees in there. But I did hear they are changing the venue this year and hope our studio chooses to attend Next Level this year. It was my favorite competition.
Attended this one with my daughter a few years ago!!! Awards were absolutely amazing!!! Due to conflicts could not attend last year but hoping to be back this year!!! LOVED IT!!
We brought solos and a duet to this competition, which I believe was new to our area this year. Great experience for my dancer. She loved the master classes on Friday evening. The staff, especially the woman working the registration desk/vending was super friendly and nice. The medals awarded to soloists are the nicest my dancer has ever received. I didn\'t get to hear the critiques, but overall, as parent/dancer, we enjoyed Next Level very much.
Great Competition, Super organized it was our first time attending to Next Level but we love the experience.
This was our first time attending Next Level and overall we had a great time. I just wish there were awards for more than 1st overall.
We give out many different awards for different overalls and placements etc. The number of overalls depends on the number of competitors however. If you have anymore feedback or questions please feel free to contact me directly at director@nextleveldance.com Thanks -Paul
attended in 2014. The staff was amazingly friendly and professional, but they obviously catered to the studios who brought large numbers of dancers. As far as judging, I had dancers win in High Point. That said, there was a lot of attention given to HipHop and Contemporary. Would I attend again? I didn\'t this season. I\'m 50/50.
Hello, if you could give us more detail on how you felt we catered to the large studios it would be much appreciated. We try our best to be as transparent as possible and our goal is never make anyone feel different or not as important. If you could email me director@nextleveldance.com I would love to talk and get your specific feedback. Thank You -Paul Owner | Executive Director
I was very impressed with Next Level! I brought a soloist and the staff was so helpful and friendly - we were really made to feel just as important as the studio with 100+ numbers. The photography is the best I\'ve ever encountered and the awards are BEAUTIFUL. Such high quality medals and trophies, especially considering the entry fees were a good $20 cheaper than the other competitions we attended this season! I also appreciated that Paul acknowledged the graduating seniors. I\'m sure for most in attendance this weekend was their final regionals as it\'s late in the season so to have them stand up was a nice touch. The venue was also fantastic with both a huge auditorium and dressing rooms. I also LOVED how qualified the judges were. Broadway, MFA in Choreography, commercials.
Thank You so much for your kind words!
We attended Next Level Dance last year and had a great time! We are attending again this weekend and can\'t wait. They always give great service and I love the quality and size of the awards. Their staff is extremely helpful and always super friendly.
Thank You for the continued support :)
We are attending Next Level Dance Competition this coming weekend. We picked the competition for a variety of reasons :) So far the owner, Paul, is very helpful. However I am so nervous being a small studio with limited dances performing. I see from the various comments that the judging was fair! I hope it still is and the judges give everyone a fair chance because we did so good at a previous competition and want to keep it going with positivity!
I really hope you enjoyed your time and that the positivity kept going. I was blown away by how humble and gracious all the performers and attendees were that weekend. It was a pleasure and I hope you guys can return!
The judging was awesome and the staff helpful and professional, but the event itself not so much. It was a three day event and ran an hour behind the first two days and half an hour the third. They started half an hour late each day. When you have so many entries that you have to start at 7:30 a.m. let\'s be more professional about starting on time. We didn\'t get home till after midnight each evening and with kids going to school on Monday it was pretty tiring. There were no master classes because the event was over booked (in my opinion). The classes were our main reason for wanting to try Next Level. We were pretty bummed about it. It was a very long weekend.
Jody, unfortunately we had a tremendous amount of problems with the venue and their staff. Almost all of the delays were caused by the venues incorrect communication about some of their facilities \"working resources\" as well as properly informing their own coordinators of our venue contract and info. Although it was frustrating we didn\'t want to let that hinder the positivity of the children and participants. In regards to the classes, we only are able to provide that if Friday doesn\'t have dances. I apologize if there was confusion as we have had classes in the past. Regardless, we learned a lot of great things from that weekend and will try our best in the future to make sure we can minimize the venue issues as we know scheduling and time are #1. We also are opening a texas regional in the houston area to accommodate the overflow. Thank you for taking the time to respond and give us feedback. If you want to discuss any more, please feel free to contact me at director@nextleveldance.com Thank you -Paul | Owner & Executive Director
I loved this competition! I found that the judging was fair. The venue was superb. The competition was almost perfectly on time the entire day. The awards were a lot of fun. The only negative thing was that I did not like that the awards tended to be confusing. They did not go in order, and I was distracted by how the award was given out before the routine number/name. Overall this is definitely a competition that I will come back to if I have the opportunity.
Congrats! As a newcomer to this crazy world of dance competitions, I know it must be hard to get the name out there and build your reputation. My daughter has been competing for 4 years now and have attended over 20 competitions. This was our first Next Level competition. To tell you the truth, I was not looking forward to this competition for a couple of reasons. However, I have to commend you. You found a great venue (I know you had to change venues): large dressing rooms, great auditorium. You also had very reasonable prices for videos and photos. Judging was fair. Awards went fast. AND then, there are the trophies. The girls loved them! Thank you for a great experience!
I have owned my studio for 21 years and have attended many competitions/conventions. I HIGHLY suggest attending Next Level Dance Competition! The owner Paul and his staff are true professionals - they take time to meet with studio owner, staff, dancers and parents. They are encouraging and have positive feedback for our dancers. This is a first class competition! Great awards for the dancers which they LOVE and the biggest trophies I have ever seen! We will continue to attend Next Level Dance Competition! Sincerely, Kimberly Lewis Owner - Dance Studio 111
This is competitons 3rd year and our 3rd year going, go to this competition! The structure, awards, everything is fantastic and they need studios to give them a chance! Go once and you will want to go every year!
What a GREAT competition!! The competition ran on time. The staff was so helpful, professional and kind. The judging was fair and honest - they did not seem to play studio favorites. The DVD and picture prices were OUTSTANDING!!! The medals the dancers receive are high quality and not cheap - you know where your entry fees are going. I would HIGHLY recommend this competition. It\'s our new favorite.
Good comp, will grow with time. Awards are HUGE and a bit tacky, but the kids love them
First trip to Next Level with my daughter and we had a great time! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the venue as the dressing rooms were close to the stage and food was allowed!!! Judging appeared to be tough, but fair. My daughter was impressed by the actual \"trophies\" that were handed out! Thank you.
I attended this competition for the first time with my daughter and we traveled over three hours to the venue. We will do it again next year -it was on of the best competitions we have attended! Next Level was amazing from the master classes to the professional staff and well run event. Everyone was very accessible before, during and after the event. I loved how they gave every dancer their moment in the spotlight during awards(which are amazing). The feedback from the judges was some of the best we have heard(the judges were engaged the entire time) and were extremely fair in their critiques! The judging was tough yet fair and adjudications were truly earned at the event. The competition ran on time and the extras such as the interpretive solos and the title interview were great additions and experiences for the dancers. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to attending next year!
This was our first time attending Next Level and we have nothing but great things to say. My daughter loved the fact that they offered master classes. The awards are amazing and the staff was helpful and professional!! We loved Next Level and we can\'t wait to attend next season!! :))
Had a great time with my girls at this competition. This was our first time to Next Level. The staff was amazing and so friendly. The awards were great and I loved all the studio awards that represent the whole team! Also the owner was so kind that after my daughter left her backpack with all kinds of expensive items in it (ipad beats ect.) He waited till next morning for me to drive 2 and half hours to make sure he could hand us back her bag. I don\'t know many people that would do that so THANK YOU! Would definitely return to this competition! Well done!
Awesome! Was kind of a small competition but they really made you feel like you weren\'t a number from some random studio. Great staff - everyone involved. Loved the Instagram pix they post. HUGE trophies/medals. Venue was too small for the stage. But that may not be NextLevel\'s fault since other events were going on at the same venue. LOVE LOVE LOVE the awards section of the program. SO easy to not only record what the kids did, but really see the competition you had in each category. Happy to be there. Kids had a great time.
Overall, well done for a new competition. The venue and dressing room situation was horrible, though. Hopefully more thought will be put into that in the future. Would also like to see the schedule posted online (as advertised), as well as the results.
Thanks for your input. We apologize about the dressing room situation. Unfortunately the venue drew up a floor plan that was against their own fire code :( When we got their to set up, they informed us that we weren\'t allowed to layout everything the way we planned, although once again, they drew up the layout. That caused us to have to scramble to make things fit while still fitting their regulations. Our goal was to create as much space as possible while still keeping the girls privacy #1 priority. Regardless, we apologize about this convenience and don\'t plan on returning to that venue anytime soon. The schedule posted online is something we created when we first started in 2012, but most studios around the US actually prefer that we only send it to them so I agree we need to remove that feature. The overalls however will be posted Saturday morning. We apologize about the delay, we are still in the process of integrating a new way to showcase overalls but for now will just post the information so it is viewable. Thank you for your input and feel free to contact me at director@nextleveldance.com for any other suggestions. Much appreciated. -Paul Owner | Executive Director

LOVE LOVE LOVE this one! First time to attend this season in Dallas and everything was professional and very well run. They were on time and the trophies were bigger than some of my dancers! Not that its a deciding factor but the excitement on the kids faces to see what they could win was priceless! They also handed me the videos and pictures of all of my entries BEFORE I left instead of waiting weeks ! They have a very technologically advanced way of running things and I will definitely attend this one for years to come
We attended our daughter\'s second Next Level competition last weekend in San Mateo. Our first one was last year in San Jose. We were all so impressed with San Jose that we could not wait for this year and it was well worth the wait. Paul told us last year that he wanted to make Next Level the \"platinum standard\" for dance competitions, and he is clearly doing that. Everything is just so well done - the organization, the stage, the lighting, the photos and videos, the staff, the judges and, most important, the dancing. The dancers were able to have a great time because they could focus on their dancing. Everything else was running like clockwork in the background, so the parents could focus on enjoying the kids\' performances. The judges were paying attention to the dancing and were fair in their assessments, making the competition all the more meaningful. Sure, there might have been a little minor grumbling about the venue at first, but once we saw that amazing award display at the front door....Wow!...the venue was not even an issue. The fact that our daughter and the other kids had such a fantastic time is the most important thing. It is so refreshing to attend a competition that is so well managed and where the dancers have such a good time. That is because Next Level\'s commitment is to the dancers. It is quite evident that Paul and his great staff are focused on the dancers, and at the same time they are all polite and attentive to the parents. All in all, Next Level San Mateo was a great experience and we are all looking forward to next year\'s Bay Area competition. Our 5-star rating is well-deserved by Paul and Next Level - they earned it. And the kids get the benefit of that 5-star quality competition. At the end of the day, that\'s what it is all about, isn\'t it? Great job, Next Level! Re: photos/videos - excellent quality - many competitions don\'t know how to photograph dance; Next Level\'s photographers do!!!
This weekend will be our first time doing a Next Level Dance Competition so I gave it as many stars as possible. Like in school, you automatically start high and it\'s up to you to keep your grade that is given. I am looking forward to competing in a new competition and my daughter is looking forward to the medals. I will be back for a more thorough review after this weekend. Looking forward to seeing everyone in C-bus this weekend. Happy Dancing!
This is the 2nd time we have attended Next LeveL, the first was actually their very first competition they held in 2013 in San Jose. Their hard work in getting all the kinks out in the past year has shown! First off, I love the way the levels are set up (Beg, Int, Adv) and the overall awards and various top studio awards. The trophies/medals are incredible, it would be nice if for groups pins were given out for at least the overalls, the dancers, particularly the younger ones, do like to come home with something. As a dance mom, my all time favorite thing is the awards line-up in the program. I do write down the awards as my daughter usually cannot hear the results while she is onstage. This little thing is purely genius, I have never seen it in any other program! They do announce what studio is dancing next which I don\'t think the judges should know in an effort to be impartial, spectators can get the studio name from the program. Pictures/Videos need to be improved, I would not want to buy a video for example with the backs of the judges heads in it, but I think this all comes with the growth of the company, etc. The judging was tough but very fair, and the judges watched the dancers!! What a concept! I hope more studios go to Next LeveL, because I think the more word gets out about them, the more successful they can be, and as they grow things like videography and venues can be better invested in. They all seemed like great people, hard workers, the dance community should support their efforts!
My daughter had a great time ...We enjoyed NextLevel here in Texas... especially liked the master classes on Friday evening
Next Level has come a long way in their second season. The event at San Mateo was well run, their stage and setup was great. The venue may have not been the all-time best but overall the competition was great, the event ran smoothly, the kids loved the big medals, and the judges and staff (most important of all) displayed great energy, attention to detail and enthusiasm towards the dancers, families and the teachers and studio owners. Our family definitely recommends attending a Next Level event and we hope our studio attends again next year!!
Our studio attended Next Level\'s San Mateo competition and it was wonderful. The judging was tough but fair and consistent which made the platinum my daughter received for her duet all the more rewarding. The staff was very helpful and attentive and the competition ran very smoothly. My daughter also attended the master classes and they were great. The medals plaques and trophies were amazing. I did however feel a little bad for dancers who only danced in groups. Medals and pins were given to solo and duo/trios but dancers who only danced in groups went home with nothing but a studio plaque. Overall I thought it was a great competition and I hope our studio attends again next year.
My daughters had an amazing time at this competition, loved it!!
My daughter enjoyed herself and loved her medal. Staff was nice and helpful.
I have to say I REALLY loved Next LeveL!! It was such a great competition. The venue left a little to be desired but I am not going to hold that against them. First and foremost you have to really EARN a platinum here. They were not just giving them out like candy. Sometimes at these competitions they get too political and everyone is getting a super high fly platinum rainbow star and honestly... they may not have earned it!! I love when dancers are forced to work hard for something. It isn\'t about scores or trophies but i want my child to earn what she\'s given. Forget the scores our children recieved I just loved watching the judges really LOOK at our dancers and i could tell they were into it. As a parent who spends so much time and money on this sport it\'s just nice to see the judges actually paying attention and giving our children the attention the deserve for a couple of minutes. Also the announcers/hosts are fabulous they are entertaining and don\'t seem like they are just going along with it for a paycheck. I honestly can\'t say enough good things about NextLevel. Oh and one more thing, the selfie thing on instagram for the photogenic winner is GENIUS in this day in age!! Can\'t wait to see if we come to Next Level again. WE LOVED IT!!
This is our first year at Next Level and I will be coming back. This competition is the best we have attended this season. The awards are by far the nicest of any company and the event ran very smoothly. The kids had a great time at the bonus classes and there was plenty of room for dressing. Details are very thought out, from the program to the awards. The staff is amazing! Every single person was eager to answer any question, Paul and Mikey were available and Mikey ensured to make a personal connection making you feel more than just a client. The MC was fun and energetic. The staff from backstage to merchandise were great! I read some other post so you definitely followed through and have obviously made positive changes because there is nothing to complain about this weekend...bravo and thank you for a wonderful weekend! Happy parents and happy kids make a happy studio..
We attended the TX Next Level. My daughter enjoyed herself as she always does. It really doesn\'t matter to her where she competes, the venue, or really the awards. But your comp had classes which she really loved with Nathan and Mikey, the metals are nice, and I personally like having them at schools. With that being said, I really am turned off by reading the response by the owner Paul to some of the raters. 1st time comp moms really don\'t understand the ins and outs the first season, and you really had an opportunity to explain some things about how comps work but were condescending in your reply instead. And to the mom upset about n employee who is also a dance teacher for a studio( which is upsetting) you turn it around on her instead of simply saying \'we do not allow employees to work the same city as their home studio when competing\'. The fact you got defensive and said everything but that tells me there is some merit to her concern. Just so you know texans tend to be loyal to more of a warm-southern hospitality type company (which doesn\'t mean southern owned) that makes people feel comfortable. The classes had that feel, your MC gives that feel, but your posts on here do not give that feel at all! And who could blame someone not wanting to address concerns to you if the response is anything like they are here?
This was the best competition we have attended. The teachers were very helpful and helped everyone and not just ones in the front. The competition was a great experience and love it being broken into age divisions and awards given after their portion and not and the complete end. Also the program book was extremely well done and appreciated the time that goes into them. The place to record the award given to each act was a nice addition. Can\'t wait until next year
This is our first year of competitions because I previously insisted my daughter focus her time on performance, not for profit and/or professional companies. So far we have had good competition experiences. Next Level was different from previous competitions. The staff was very helpful and the logistics were reasonably organized. However, the audience was allowed to get discourteous during acts. The excessive cheering was over the top but it was never addressed. There were also competitor parents obviously filming other dancers which is supposed to be against the rules. The judges didn\'t seem to have training in all the areas of dance that were presented. The scoring was occasionally perplexing but not always. The awards were awkwardly handled but the medals were big and the girls seemed pleased. The open gym dressing area was not ideal. On a good note I thought the fees were reasonable. *********** Dear Director, thank you for responding. After attending several more competitions I realized that there are different types of competitions. Each having a little bit of its own character. Having said that, I think you handled things exactly as you should have for your type of competition. I cannot imagine you doing anything differently. Best of luck.
I am really confused about the complaint over excessive cheering? The event had cheering family members & teams no different than any other dance competition event you would go to. I understand that some competitions have rules about clapping and cheering but to me that is a little bit much. These kids and families pour their hearts out to prepare for these events; so when people are yelling for their daughter because of how proud they are or because they want them to know how much they love and care for them I think that is great. I don\'t disagree with your issue about the filming situation but the majority of the filming issue mainly had to do with families trying to film their kids dances. That being said, I personally spent two hours walking around stopping filmers and had to use two of my other workers for the rest of the event to do the same. The Judges in TEXAS - 1 - HAS HER MASTERS IN DANCE/TEACHES AT THE COLLEGIATE LEVEL 2 - TAP SPECIALIST AND HAS OVER 7 YEARS OF COMPETITION JUDGING 3 - INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL / CONSISTENT TEACHER WITH OVER 4 YEARS OF COMPETITION AND CONVENTION JUDGING If that doesn\'t suffice then I don\'t know what else to do? Since we haven\'t sent out our final scoresheets yet, I hope you can elaborate on what was exactly perplexing about our scoring? Within our program we have a 2 page spreadsheet Awards Guide that goes over almost every possible detail about scoring, calculations, breakdowns etc. Even before our Overall awards we explain breakdowns that might be confusing as well. The awards will always have its awkward moments as we always want to make sure every kids get recognized. We will ALWAYS CORRECT a mistake we make on stage TO ENSURE THAT THE KID GETS THEIR DESERVED MOMENT. The Large Gym ensured everyone had plenty of space to change & is preferred over crammed class rooms. Competitions are held at high schools normally so your options are always those 2. Contact me anytime at director@nextleveldance.com
This was our second year to attend Next Level. What a great competition! All of the staff were professional, friendly and courteous. They stayed very close to on time and the awards went quickly. My daughter was SO THRILLED when she found out that all the members of her trio got medals. (awesome medals too) What a very, very nice touch! That made our day. Thank you.
Thank you for the patience and kind words!
We heard that one of your employees is a dance teacher for a studio competing against us here in Dallas. If this is true we feel that is totally unfair and unprofessional! She should not be allowed to work a city that her studio is competing at! Not to mention the \'good luck\' and special support backstage before they go on and ours don\'t get the same we get snotty looks before we go on. Very very wrong! I read your response and if you are saying your worker does not work with a local studio we competed against, that is a lie! We are all in the same dressing Area and the students and moms were discussing the teacher. And I am addressing it here in the review. As if you would remove them from the competition? If you saw the ethical injustice in the first place you would not have let them be at same comp in first place. That\'s why you get a low rating.
The key words here are \"We Heard\" & \"if this is true\" I am disappointed that gossip and lies, without any attempt to verify or communicate with us, were the basis of your review. Anybody that attends our events know that we have the most approachable staff and workers. This review was posted about 4 hours after this competition started so the reviewer had plenty of time to voice their concern. Everything stated above is incorrect and a complete over exaggeration of situations that never happened. I find it highly disappointing and discouraging to have someone leave a 1 star review based off of gossip, and without even attempting to verify the truth.
Wish they would explain the awards a little better. overall a great comp!!!
Hello Dancing Queen, I am not sure if you had a program, but the Program had a full 2 page Awards Guide that explained almost everything relating to our awards. Hope that helps!
We competed at Ontario and had a wonderful experience. I look forward the a National competition from Next Level, my studio will most definitely attend! Mikey Trasoras is our studio\'s favorite choreographer and excited for the opportunity to work with any project he is associated with. The awards were amazing and my students were extremely proud of them. The judge\'s critiques were very helpful and fair. The MC kept the atmosphere upbeat. I did hear some remarks about the backstage hand but I did not see or hear rude comments. However, compared to the rest of the staff she doesn\'t quite match their level. Great job Paul!!
My daughters dance studio attended Next Level Dance Competition in Ontario. This was the first time our studio attended the competition. I have to say that I was really impressed on how well organized it was. This competition really catered to the kids talents and rewarded them for their hard work. The trophies and medals were really nice. It was a smaller competition than we are used to but a great one to start off our season.
We went to the Next Level Competition in Ontario and I have to say that they have really stepped up their game from last year! Compared to last year\'s experience this one felt like it was a different competition altogether. It started on time and not an hour late.. the facility was awesome!! Bigger and better stage, and way better lighting! The awards section was a lot better with only one person doing the talking and not passing the mic around. Overall, as a mom, I feel like Next Level really proved themselves this year (they were VERY ORGANIZED!!). I would love to take my kids back to this comp. :-)
Next Level In Ontario, CA was very well ran and organized. The awards were done in a timely manner while still recognizing all the dancers hard work. We have been to a Next Level competition before in another state that was not as well ran but this one was very well done. We would definitely come back! Thank you Next Level! You have stepped it up!
Thank You to Next Level for a great weekend at Colony High School. The theatre was so spacious and clean and just a great venue for watching and enjoying my daughter dance. And what an amazing thing to actually be on schedule and not keeping us until midnight! A great atmosphere and very professionally run!
As a studio owner, I love Next Level Dance Competition for so many reasons! My students look forward to this competition every season and the staff interacts with dancers in a way that dancers don\'t feel like a number. Paul and his staff are very professional, fair, and carry the competition with value. Way to go Next Level!
Thank you for your review and I am so glad you guys feel welcome and important. We look forward to growing and getting better so that your experience only improves! -Paul Vision Lee Owner|Executive Director
I give Next Level 5 stars. There program was awesome well organized and on time. The program book was one of the best Ive seen it had lots of pertinent and additional information. My daughter loved the competition as well. The awards were pretty cool.
Thank you! We take a lot of pride in trying to make things as easy as possible for the families, participants, and teachers/owners in attendance. -Paul Vision Lee Owner|Executive Director
Reallly enjoyed last saturday in Ontario, loved no time wasted and quality of awards
Thanks our awards looked great on those kids! -Paul Vision Lee Owner|Executive Director
Had a great experience this year. The venue had ample seating and dressing areas. Schedule ran on time. Didn\'t love the beginning of awards; seemed a bit disjointed, but once they were under way, it all smoothed out. Enjoyed the written essay contests -- special touch!
Thank you for you input on the beginning of awards. They seemed a little shaky the first time because we were still juggling around the new dancer intro walk and the best way to go about it. As you noted, once we got it locked it was smooth sailing from there :)
Very well organized. Very well put together. Nice venue . would do it again!
Well thank you very much ;) We hope you guys return for sure! -Paul Vision Lee Owner|Executive Director
Still in the afterglow from a great competition weekend! NextLevel competitions is the only one that knows why we have our kids dance! It\'s to learn goal setting, life lessons, commitment, comraderie, respect, and appreciation. They model these goals with their professionalism, punctuality, flexibility and encourage that behavior among dancers, and parents. Our kids were so happy with the awards, photos, videos and friendships they made with other studios. The quality of the competetion was inspiring too! I like the optional master classes after the competitions as well, when there is time, what a neat idea
Wow, what a thorough and detailed review that really makes what we do worth it. We really appreciate it and just like you said, whatever is best for the kids is the most important thing of all. We look forward to seeing you guys again! -Paul Vision Lee Owner|Executive Director
Next level was a great competition, although I think the air was on too high but overall an excellent competition. Kids were rested enough to perform the next day.
Thanks for your input, we turned the air up mainly because the dancers were feeling very hot on stage and we wanted to make sure they felt accommodated and didn\'t get dehydrated. On the second day, someone left one of the exit doors open at the side of the auditorium. Due to the school being next to the farm (outside manure smell) we wanted to turn the air/ fan up to get some of that yucky odor out of the auditorium. Thanks for your concern though!
Great Competition with Friendly Staff
Thank you La Dance and we appreciated your participation! Look forward to seeing you guys back next year :) -Paul Vision Lee Owner|Executive Director
This competition was great. My daughter and I had a great time. So organized, staff was very nice and accommodating and we loved the Selfie moment during awards.
YES THE PHOTOGENIC SELFIE MOMENT! Thank you for your feedback, it\'s much appreciated. -Paul Vision Lee Owner|Executive Director
They did a fantastic job! Huge improvement over last year. I think that shows they really care and listen to feedback which can be rare in the dance world! The awards were humongous and made the kids feel special. Really sick of the plastic trophies that everyone else hands out! They even organize the score sheet so it\'s easy to follow awards!! (One hint, you can sort by age, level and style, it would be even better!). Not sure their unique age levels work though, as lil 7 year olds are so developmentally different from 9 year olds...Great job to the next Level team!
Thank you so much! Also, from now on we will be organizing the awards pages as you said to make it more easy to follow along. We tried to get it ready for this regional but we didn\'t want to take any chances. Thank you for your support and review!
Both of my daughters participated in the Next Level Dance Competition in Ontario CA March 15th and 16th. It was a very pleasant experience. The event was run professionally, yet made fun for the dancers. It ran on time and we appreciated the extras available such as the Interpretive solo category. All in all this was a wonderful competition and one we would gladly attend again. Thank You!
I am so glad your kids had a great time. The Interpretive Solo category provides great education for the students as well. Thanks again! -Paul OWNER | EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
My 9 year old daughter just competed in the Ontario dance competition (all day Saturday) and overall our experience was great. The program was on schedule, the judges were very attentive, the staff was friendly and helpful. The announcer was great~ very energetic. Next Level is very generous with the size of the medals and trophies. I felt the ajudication was fair as well. Great experience
Thank you for your review, yes or amazing MC Tyler is the best and we are so lucky to have him part of our team! I am so happy that your kids loved the awards. Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. I am so glad your kids had a great time. The Interpretive Solo category provides great education for the students as well. Thanks again! -Paul OWNER | EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
This is our studio\'s second year attending Next Level Dance Competition. The Next Level staff is amazing. They were helpful and courteous. The competition was well organized and ran smoothly. We were there all day Sunday and there were no delays in getting the acts on stage and getting through the schedule. I would highly recommend Next Level to other studios.
Thank you for coming to us two years in a row. I can\'t even put into words how much that support means to us. THank you so much for taking the time to review us and help us grow. We really appreciate it. I am so glad your kids had a great time. The Interpretive Solo category provides great education for the students as well. Thanks again! -Paul OWNER | EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
We have been to this comp two years in a row now and I have to say I am soooo glad that our studio gave this comp another chance. Everything was perfect this year. This is by far the best comp we have been to this season. The staff was great, and the awards/trophies were awesome. I love the medals and the fact that the schedule/program is available online. Also, absolutely love the essay and the improve categories. Next level did a great job of recognizing the teachers/studio owners and parents as well as the dancers. Only complaint is that the lighting on the dark backdrop. We would have purchased all the pictures had there not been so many with shadows on them. Can\'t wait to go to next level next year!!!!
I am SOOO GLAD as well :) Our main goal this year was to make sure that we showed how much we have changed and improved. If it wasn\'t for studios and people like you, we would never be able to exist. In regards to the Lighting, we are already on it. The night after comp. My media team and I had a 2 hour meeting over dinner on the solutions to working at venues that don\'t always have the most \"up to date\" lighting etc. I am so sorry we couldn\'t get you those pics to your liking. Please contact me at director@nextleveldance.com and we can see if it\'s something we can fix in Post editing. THANKS I am so glad your kids had a great time. The Interpretive Solo category provides great education for the students as well. Thanks again! -Paul OWNER | EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Just had a great time at the Next Level competition in Ontario CA. Everything was very organized and ran on time. The entire staff was extremely friendly and professional. The announcer was very energetic and fun. He was FABULOUS. Loved him. Mikey was amazing. Friendly with my kids and even playful. Definitely one of the best competitions we have attended. 5 stars.
Thank you for your review. Our mc and Regional Director are amazing! We appreciate the kind word and we look forward to seeing you again! I am so glad your kids had a great time. The Interpretive Solo category provides great education for the students as well. Thanks again! -Paul OWNER | EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Basically as a dad I rate these weekends by how happy my daughter and her friends are in the end. As far as I can tell this was a pretty good competition. Her medal was as big as she was and she was pretty happy to let her mom take a picture with it. The owner was available and seemed to be attentive to making sure everything ran smoothly. Our studio picked this competition because of the choreographer that has worked with our studio and Mikey was very friendly to our group and others too as far as I could see. My daughter mentioned the person working backstage was a little \'mean\' and she and her friends were talking about ugly looks they got. I know 8 year old girls can be dramatic but I hope that isn\'t true, I let my wife deal with that. So overall, as a dad I like to see my money was well spent and I feel it was. My daughter did great and seemed to have a good time. That pretty much keeps dad happy.
Could you please contact me at director@nextleveldance.com My entire staff knows how serious I take customer service which is displayed in their kindness and happy demeanor. I am extremely upset that your daughter felt this employee was giving her mean looks. As you can see below, this is now the 2nd review with this same complaint and I have already started to look into it. I would love to get more specific info. If this is true, I want to personally apologize and please let your daughter know that this person was not in the right. Needless to say, this staff member won\'t be working any more weekends from here on out. Thank you for your thorough and honest review. I really appreciate being made award of these matters. I am so glad your kids had a great time. The Interpretive Solo category provides great education for the students as well. Thanks again! -Paul OWNER | EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
I liked that the staff was helpful and very enthusiastic. The level of competition was amazing. Only con is that I would prefer the solos separate from the teams.
Glad that you enjoyed the event and the staff was helpful. As we continue to grow, we will have more options in scheduling flexibility. It\'s tough when you are new to make sure kids have enough time to change etc. Thank you for your advice though, it is definitely noted! I am so glad your kids had a great time. -Paul OWNER | EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Just attended the Next Level dance competition in Ontario. It was our dance studio\'s first time working with this company and they were great. The competition was well organized and the dancers felt like the judges were very engaged during the dances. My daughter performed a vocal dance solo and Next Level was very accommodating in providing a cordless headset rather than simply a microphone. The awards ceremony went smoothly and quickly and the dancers were impressed with the hefty Olympic-style medals they were given. Great competition!!
I remember her, she did a great job! I am glad we could accommodate you guys and the dancers looked great with the medals. Thanks for the feedback! -Paul OWNER | EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
It was one of the pretty nice organized competition. I loved trio/duet award get each member can their own.
We are so happy to you enjoyed the event! We always make sure to give each member an award as we never want to see kids fight over an award that they all equally won! -Paul OWNER | EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Having a great day until this girl working gave my group attitude. Disappointed because everyone else has been super nice. Other than that great day of comp!
Cadance can you please contact me at director@nextleveldance.com as I am extremely upset this happened to you. I plan to get to the bottom of this as our staff members know that customer service is the most important aspect of our company. Once again, I am extremely sorry about this and 100% plan on taking care of this matter. -Paul OWNER | EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Had a ball! We have never been to Next a Level. But, if Mikey Trasoras is involved, we\'re in! Thanks for a great day!
Thanks for your participation, and yes - Mikey is great! -Paul OWNER | EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
It was great my daughters loved it and it was very organized
Glad you guys enjoyed the show! Look forward to seeing you guys again! -Paul Vision Lee Owner|Executive Director
What a difference a year makes, organized, Ontime, great classes, the best awards I have seen since my daughters have competed. We will go every year. Great feedback and useful critiques.
Thanks! So excited you guys gave it another chance and saw the improvements we have made. -Paul Vision Lee Owner|Executive Director
My daughter had a great time!! Very organized and the staff is very polite. Definitely better than last year, looking forward to next year!!
Thanks for coming again and supporting. We will only continue to get better and improve from your input! -Paul Vision Lee Owner|Executive Director
I really likened the way they had everything organized for the dancers.i thought the judges comments were helpful to the dancers Thank you for a great weekend!
My girls had a great time. They enjoyed the competition. I like that Paul is very approachable. This competition has come a long way from the last time we where there. It has grown a lot. I am so excited to have my girls compete next year at this competition.
My daughter really enjoys this dance competition. There was plenty of room for the dancers to practice and get ready for the competition. The awards were amazing! She is looking forward to next year.
This was my daughters first year in competition and this was her first competition. It was a very amazing experience for us. The level of talent in this show was incredible. It was very organized and the enthusiasm of the announcer was great. For a very first experience in the life of competition, I think she enjoyed herself very much. I had some other concerns that I emailed to Paul and he was very courteous and prompt with his response. I did appreciate that. It shows very good customer service.
I really appreciate your email and I always encourage anyone to contact me with their feedback as I believe communication is key. Sometimes it\'s important to hear things from different perspectives as it gives both the company and families better insight into the how\'s why\'s etc. I am so glad your daughter had a great time and I wish you much success in the future! - Paul | Owner & Executive Director
We just attended Next Level for the second year. We were super happy with all aspects of this competition. Paul is wonderful and a super great supporter of all the dancers and families!
Thank you for your support once again. We look forward to taking yours and others advice so that we may continually grow and improve through the years.
We just did our 3rd comp with Next LeveL Dance Competition and once again had a great time. We have had the benefit of seeing this comp grow from their 1st year into their 2nd. They saw what needed fixed & did it. Their staff is very polite & Paul is always available & gracious. We love this comp, you are not \"just another studio\" or \"just another dancer\" here!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE REVIEW AND SUPPORT! We take our personal service extremely serious so I am glad that you guys felt welcome!
I agree they had problems (we might even be from the same studio) but there is something to be said for how friendly and hard working the staff was. I give it 4 stars because I think they have some growing to do but i have a feeling I will give it five stars in the future!
Thank you for your support. I am so excited to start this season and to show that we have fixed any problems we had being a new business in its first year. I am excited for studios, dancers, and parents to enjoy our events in a way that was the reason behind the creation of Next LeveL; to provide a safe, honest, fun, and educational experience of the highest quality. As you can see from the reviews below, we couldn\'t make everything perfect but we will always be accountable for any problems and are always open to working and communicating with anyone that contacts us. Thank you and please say hello if you guys are able to make it this year.
amazing event! love the master classes and a competition in the same place on the same weekend. The judging is fair and the staff is amazing! WE had an awesome experience!
Paul Vision Lee has customer service down packed. All of the staff are very accommodating. My daughter attended in Dallas, TX and will definitely be going back!! Thank you NEXT LEVEL....keep up the good work!
We attended this comp last year and there was a LOT of room for improvement. The stage was slippery, lighting was awful and it was primarily attended by solos, duos and trios. The comp had 3 levels, which resulted in very sparse competition since there were so few groups that actually participated. I suggest if they have low group attendence, they should eliminate at least 1 level - just do competitive and rec levels. Groups entered in the lowest level were far more advanced than the ones in the highest level - it was absurd. The awards were a HOT mess - they forgot awards, repeated awards - and were clearly flustered. I have been to other comps in their first year before and they did not have this many problems.
Dancemom Please contact me director@nextleveldance.com so I can further speak w/ you about the issues. Your opinions are important & we will do whatever we can to improve/accommodate anything possible. You brought up 2 important points. 1) The obvious mistakes we need to fix 2) The struggles new competitions go through. The slippery marley was something that was brought to our attention during competition. Unfortunately, at that moment we couldn\'t do anything. We did notify the judges to take that in account while judging to keep it fair. To avoid this in 2014, we have purchased our own marley so these things won\'t happen. I usually like to create more ambiance with the darker lighting, & after speaking with some attendees, I didn\'t think it was an issue. However, I apologize & will definitely keep the stage more brighter from here on out. With Next LeveL, I always wanted 3 levels as I felt it created more accuracy in judging. Having two levels would actually be much easier for me but I decided to stick to our goal of doing what\'s right for the educational side. I did bring up the 2 level possibility & a lot of people were against it. In regards to the solo/duet/trios, once again that is just a product of a new competition. I would love more groups our 1st yr. but when you are new, most studios usually defer. I will say that this coming year that will not be the case. In regards to awards, there were issues that were caused by silly mistakes. Needless to say, those people have been replaced & we have a whole new staff/system so that these things will Never occur. That was my 1st priority after the season. In regards to lower levels being more advanced, I\'ve never had that issue or complaint. However I take that seriously & hope you can contact me & point out any examples. I have more to say but there is a 2000 word limit :( Please Email me to continue this! Thank you - Paul | Owner & Executive Director
Family environment, very helpful to me and my staff. The judges gave great feedback, not just smile. The venue was wonderful, the kids thought if was really cool to dance at the sound Board.rnPaul kept in contact from start to finish. He was available for any questions I had.
THank YOU!!! We appreciate the review and kind words. -Paul Vision Lee Owner|Executive Director
It was only a couple of days before the convention/competition when we were able to sign up, and Paul was very accommodating to include my daughter, and we appreciated that. She loved the convention classes, learned so much and they weren't packed like too many conventions we've been to. All of the students had room to learn. The instructors were well known choreographers, came prepared and did a great job with all of the students. The mock interview-audition process/training was an excellent opportunity for serious dancers like my daughter, hoping for a future in dance. In addition, the interpretive solo is unique to this competition and is a wonderful experience for all dancers, especially those looking for a career in performing. We also received a CD with the judges critiques which are always valuable to improve as a dancer. Although the timing ran a little late, it was overall an excellent experience. I would encourage everyone to participate with this new and innovative competition.
Hey Lori, thanks for your honesty about the time running late. I was not happy about that and is the #1 thing we are absolutely going to make sure never happens again when our 2nd year starts. My sincerest apologies, but I\'m glad your daughter enjoyed the event and I greatly appreciate the feedback.
My daughter entered this competition in Phoenix. I have to say for a new competition, they were on the ball! Everything ran smooth and on time. My daughter had a wonderful Master class with Mikey. The awards were the most outstanding awards given from any competition that we have ever attended, and we attend on average 20 during the season. Next Level' pure professionalism; they have raised the bar for excellence in the dance competition world, open communication with the owner and friendly staff. My daughter can't wait for Next Level to come to Phoenix 2014!! Awesome competition, I highly recommend it to anyone in the competition world. You will be impressed!!
This is brand new competition, so we didn\'t go in with crazy high expectations. The competition was so small we practically got a private lesson with tWitch! The communication between the owner is wonderful and prompt. Can\'t wait to see where this competition is going!
I know that conventions can\'t guarantee their faculty, but not even half of the teachers supposed to teach and judge at this event were present. Furthermore, if his teachers can no longer attend because of \"booking a job,\" he should make sure his teachers don\'t tweet and instagram themselves \"not working.\" At least let your teachers in on the lie! Allison Holker was supposed to be teaching and judging at his competition. My daughter absolutely adores her! My daughter follows her on twitter and instagram, and Allison had the weekend off. I asked some other parents on Facebook about Paul\'s other events and the same thing happened with Twitch and a few of the other teachers failing to show up without an apology, email to the studios to let them know, or a post on Facebook letting everyone know. Many of us were happy to give the new guy a chance, but I doubt we will return next year. I was hoping for a lot more and so was my daughter.
Hey Sherry, thanks for your response. I was able to talk to some people at the event that had these same feelings so I am glad that you wrote this so I could respond. A lot of times things are a little more complicated to explain then they appear. However, I assure you there was no malicious intent to deceive. Anytime we had something change, I did my best to personally speak to anyone that had an issue and apologized in person. If they were really unsatisfied I returned their money on the spot. Anytime a regional was approaching, my schedule became extremely busy but that\'s no excuse and I agree that the manner in which we can mass communicate last minute changes needs to improve. The classes offered at our events were purposely priced extremely low. I did this because I believe a child\'s experience in life shouldn\'t ever be determined by what you can or can\'t afford. Also, I didn\'t want to financially burden families anymore in this tough economy. That being said, if you could contact me at director@nextleveldance.com we can issue a refund or give you some free classes for next year. Also, we can talk in more detail about the situation. I created Next LeveL because I care about education, kids, and families. I don\'t ever want anyone feeling that they are being cheated or taken advantage of. I am very proud of our first year but I am not naïve to the improvements and adjustments we need to make to get better. I can\'t promise perfection but I promise that we will always progress and strive to listen, learn, and improve. Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Paul Vision Lee Owner | Executive Director
