My daughter absolutely loved this competition! It was just perfect, and we felt like we were really appreciated. In so many other competitions, it felt like an assembly line of dancers with the judges not really caring. But this felt more like a place where we were welcomed and appreciated. When we talked to a gentleman sitting at a merchandise table outside the auditorium, he was extremely helpful and informative.. Later we discovered that Frank was the director of the entire show, yet he was sweet, humble, and encouraging. We also met the the other director, and she was super sweet too. We've been feeling discouraged with many other competitions, but this one was such a wonderful experience.

It was our Dance Company's first competition and they loved it! Can't wait to go back.
I absolutely love Turn it around tour. They are excellent at running a great competition. Everything runs on time or a little ahead, great staff and they have a separate tap category with it's own set of awards. The workshops are great too. I would definitely recommend attending any of their competitions.
Just happened to come across this site and read the 2 comments below from dncteacher 1212 and mrd2000. Our studio was in attendance at the same competition as these 2 individuals.Myself and everyone i came in contact with throughout that weekend would strongly DISAGREE with your false statements. Our studio has been attending TIA for the past 5 years and the parents and students absolutely love and look forward to this competition. They are one of the best run and are the most fair and comprehensive in their judging and critiques. At our studio i know for a fact that our performers have grown from as well as look forward to their TIA critiques as they compete to better themselves. Some years we do really well at TIA and other Years we do not do as well.It is not the competitions fault it is the how the performers presented themselves and they learn from the good as well as the bad.We were not one of the studios that took home many big awards that weekend yet our performers were happy with the competition and the parents were as well.In the 5 years that my children have been attending this competition myself or any other parent has never had the feeling that there had been any form of favoritism towards any individual and or studio.TIA has always been a top notch first class competition.I am not one to write reviews ,good or bad yet i felt the need to set the record straight.I just do not agree with FALSE negative comments being reciprocated by a studio who is clearly a sore looser.Your comment about the so called studio who won everything(in fact is not true)you stated that their dances were awful. You are listed as the studio owner in your username and it is obvious that you recruited one of your teachers to write the second review,SHAME on you to insinuate that a dance or performers in a dance were awful.YOU are an educator and should be lifting up young performers and being a positive role model,NOT being a bully and cutting these young children down.YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF !!!! your comments may be an indicator of why you didn't do as well as you should of at this competition.I am so glad my children get their training from a studio who teaches respect for themselves as well as towards others.
Yikes, what an embarrassing competition. Two days of competition for three hours each day, $100 master classes, total bias towards the studio that brought the most kids, changed the venue last minute, and they use a google form for registration. I'm sure they could afford a website with all the money they make from the studios they like to favor.
The worst competition we have attended. We should have stopped the registration after they had the most irritating and time consuming process for registration. The owner is rude, not friendly at all. They had 160 dances spread over two days which was a waste of a weekend when it easily could have been done in one day. The judging was the most bias I have ever seen with top awards going to the studio with the most kids, even though their dances were awful. Don’t waste your money on this competition.
This event was local to our studio in Richmond VA, so we did not have to travel, which was nice. They were very accommodating with a few last minute entries. The staff was available throughout the day and quite helpful and the competition ran ahead of schedule! A couple of nice features included a parent photography pass so that a parent could take additional photos for the studio and the individual and group winner photos and top placement group photos done by the competition photographer. Very nice trophies. Judging was tough, i.e., mostly golds/high golds with very few platinums and only one high platinum, but pretty consistent.
Overall, our dancers enjoyed themselves. The competition was a little ahead of schedule, always appreciated. The judging was consistent. Platinums and DPs were not handed out like candy. The staff was pleasant, helpful. We had a schedule well ahead of time. The awards were a bit sketchy. all but 2 special awards went to the the same studio. The other 2, went to another. There were only 5-6 studios in attendance and lots of nice performances on the stage. The venue was nice, but the sound system was off. The songs seemed to change speed and throw some numbers off. The dressing room was a fire hazard. All but one studio was in one room and another had their own room. Truly could not have fit one more person in there.
I absolutely love taking my team to Turn it around competition. They go out of their way to make the kids come first. They run ahead of schedule, fair judging, nice awards and they have a friendly and helpful staff.
Very organized, ran on time, friendly staff. Love watching you grown and get bigger and better every year! Well Done!
In general this was a decent competition. Haven\'t done the convention so can\'t say on that. The trophies were nice and you could video your own routines which was awesome. Edit - it is in the rules this year they have videos they are selling so you can\'t tape your own anymore. Bummer :(

As always, it was a great event. Very kind, organized and continues to bring great training through their workshops! Both, Frank and Liz have grown a great program and it continues to improve!
Went to the Fort Myers Venue. It was awesome. The staff is beyond helpful from registration to taking time to say thank you and goodbye. The classes were GREAT! The kids loved them. The competition seemed fair and the judging/critiques were the best we have ever received. They were engaged through the entire routine making professional and pleasant corrections. It is not an over the top glitzy comp with a huge money making boutique but that\'s not why they do this. It is obvious it is for the dancers! Looking forward to going back next year. Hopefully a bigger venue but would go back regardless.
We LOVE going to this competition every year. We are a tripple threat studio and appreciate that they offer categories for singing, dancing, and acting.Their judges are highly qualified and are very fair with their scoring. The staff is very professional and runs on time. Our students always love participating in the wonderful workshops/convention part of this competition to. I can not express enough how much we love coming to this competition. It\'s definitely one we look forward to every year!
Outstanding competition!! Already on the schedule for next season at our studio.
Loved this competitions!! Sometimes these can get a little long and boring but this one was on time, up beat and fun. I felt the judges critiques were spot on. They were professional and so was the staff. So many times you see the staff walking around looking so sloppy and judges in jeans... This was no the case here. Very professional and organized.... Loved it!!
We attended the competition the weekend of March 30th and what a wonderful experience. Our kids had so much fun and their dancing really showed it. The competition ran on time and the staff was very friendly and organized. The judging was very fair and the owner was very accessible walking around making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. There are way too many dance competitions to choose from and more than half are a waste of money. This one is outstanding.
We attended the competition at Anchor Bay High School in March and we absolutely loved it. This was our second year attending and we will definitely be back next year! Their customer service is top notch and I think its great that they offer not only dance divisions but acting and signing. Our studio only offers dance however we had a student that was doing a song & dance and they had head sets and everything ready. Every other competition we have attended we were required to bring our own (which cost the parents $200). The competition is very organized and ran on time (actually even a little ahead). I can\'t thank them enough for such a great experience for both myself and my dancers/parents. I can\'t wait til next year!
This is a great event, always a class act! They run on time, give great critiques and are a pleasure to work with. There are not many comps out there wgivh include acting and singing so this is a great event for our dance and theatre students. We also think the staff is fantastic. Thank you Frank and Liz for all you do to make this such a great event for the students, parents and the studio. Oh and they answer emails FAST. WE LOVE THAT!!!
.
Great competition. Ran on time, nice awards, friendly staff, good venue.

We went this past weekend (3/28) and I found the comp to be organized well, the staff was friendly and the day went smooth. There was only one award time, so that was not something I was used to. I felt the awards were adjudicated fairly, our studio did fare well with what we brought and quite frankly, I was only concerned with how our studio did. I did not watch all the numbers. I did enjoy the diversity of acts.
This was our studios 1st experience with this competition. The Anchor Bay High venue was nice, comp ran on time but, awards were very disappointing. The judges had very obvious favoring of 1 studio- this particular studio had quite a few inappropriate costumes for their young dancers and were still awarded highly. The judges gave at least 13 \"special awards\" and all but 2 of them went to this studio. Not to mention that all but 3 of their dances were rated platinum or double platinum. Yes, some were really good but others did not have very good technique or difficulty. In the 6 yrs that my child has competed, I have never wrote a negative review but, this competitions blatant biased towards one studio left a bad taste in my mouth.
Overall, the competition went well. The staff was very friendly and enthusiastic. Parents and dancers enjoyed the experiences. I would love to hear the special judges awards directly from the judges. As far as the convention portion -- my dancer loved it! Terrific instruction, constructive corrections given, an abundance of knowledge and enthusiasm -- we\'d definitely do the convention portion again!
Horrible experience. Very obviously favored the only big studio in attendance and they were not the best. Definitely not the \"turn it around\" experience they promise. Also awarded the dances with tiny kids dancing very inappropriate in very revealing outfits. I cannot stress how disappointed we all were.
