Caution: Our school hosted one of their events. Poor scheduling gaps, incoherent planning, bitter staff members were the norm. They left the school in horrible condition and wanted to run events past midnight. In addition, the owner bragged of how much money they made while trying to insult school district teaching staff who were working the event. Be careful with TTB.

I'm so sorry you had a poor experience. Ticket To Broadway is actually under new ownership as of the 2018 season and we are working hard to improve TTB and make it the most fun it can be for all of these talented kids. We hope you'll try us again.

The announcer was very annoying with his funny voices and comedy. The numbers that seemed to be the only ones placing were flashy musical theatre pieces or tap dancing. The awards were tiny and cheap.

Hi there, Ticket To Broadway is under new ownership as of the 2018 season. We have a new fun and bubbly emcee that the kids love and our judges do not favor any one particular category of dance! We have improved the overall look and quality of TTB, from our backdrop, to our merchandise, to our awards, medals & plaques! We do hope you'll try us again!

Incredibly biased towards showy Routines even if they lacked in technique or choreography. Deep routines with amazing choreography and technique did not do well. Judges still seem to be stuck in the 20th century when it comes to scoring routines

LOVE THIS GROUP!! Every year I look forward to their dance competitions. The pace is very good, some competitions have you wait more than 6 hours for the awards so they can have fewer awards which means more groups on stage and rushed award ceremonies. TTB spaces the day out, groups don\'t have to wait so long and you can actually hear the announcer and what they\'re saying unlike others. Keep up the good work guys!!

I competed at TTB a few years ago and had a great time! With all of the negative comments recently, I felt that I needed to share my experience/opinion. I feel that the judging was fair and consistent. In addition, the event ran very smoothly. I have attended other Tickey to Broadway events since and have always enjoyed myself. I would love the opportunity to compete in future competitions!!

The Ticket to Broadway experience was very positive! The dancers performed well and the judges were fair and honest in their assessment of each of the dances (from our studio). The competition ran according to schedule. The only area that I would suggest improving would be the dressing room for the female dancers. It was quite crowded! We look forward to the national Ticket to Broadway competition! Don\'t miss it!

Thank you for the feedback! We are glad you enjoyed your time at TTB. -- Each venue is different, so dressing rooms/areas vary from venue to venue. If they are ever less than ideal, we try to explore new venues for the following season!

I have performed for ticket to broadway twice and have attended their competitions for the past 4 years. Every experience has been so much fun! The judges\' comments are always friendly and insightful, especially coming from different backgrounds. I still attend the competitions because of the fun and uplifting atmosphere. I would definitely recommend taking your child/student to this competition!

Never been to a competition like this before. The judges seem to have no recent dance experience. It seemed like the cleaner the number the lower it scored. Everything about this was unprofessional, when they announced number the TTB Boys would make these horrible sounds or change the name of the group, this would confuse the dancers and they would walk off stage. With all the money parents put out for competition they do not want to see 40 year old men dance on stage, they want to see kids! The whole weekend felt like a bizzaro world. I agree with others this should get 0 stars.

Attended Cape May regional April event . Never in decades of attending competitions have we seen judging like this. Clueless results. Judges comments were actually comical...which is very sad when you realize that your parents laid out thousands of dollars for this. So many studios were in shock with quality numbers losing to trite recital like numbers with no substance by huge entry studios. We waited until judges comments were received and trust me ... They were ridiculous. One judge repeated constantly said what choreography he preferred. ?????? Is this what judges do? Absurd. He actually said he prefers when all dancers do the same thing at the same time. Oh my God! He is judging a dance competition! Never again TTB...keep giving Plat to shuffle ball change all together now...we will bring our dancers elsewhere.

With my daughter only being five year sold at the time of her first dance competition, I was a little apprehensive about allowing her to get involved with competitions. But we were thrilled when we decided to do it especially with Ticket To Broadway being her first competition! They were wonderful! It was organized, well run, enthusiastic and welcoming! Now, my daughter in her second year of competing, we could not wait to register for Ticket To Broadway which was held last month. Once again, we were not disappointed and could not be more pleased with how well it was run and kindness of the TTB staff and fellow dancers. Thank you Ticket to Broadway!!

If I could give this competition 0 stars I would. The environment was very unprofessional, at one point they were running over 2 hours early (even with our studios 2 hour early call time, it was not enough) and I have never looked forward to a competition being over. My senior dancers asked for the name of this website so they could come leave bad reviews, and they didn\'t even know my personal feelings of the competition. Never again.

Like many other people here, I wish I could give TTB no stars. We have attended their regionals in the past and have enjoyed it very much. However, something is very wrong with them now. We attended their south jersey location in April 2015. It was overbooked and Friday was not even advertised as part of the weekend, yet the competition began on Friday at 6pm and went until 10:30pm. The scoring was erratic and made no sense. The dances winning were just terrible and the dances losing and coming in with high golds and golds were some of the best dances there. When 16 studios are in attendance and only 3 studios seem to be winning (the dances with the most entries mind you) there is something suspicious. The \"TTB boys\" have become very annoying with their antics and need to update their \"routines\" and need to stop announcing routines in stupid voices (especially in lyrical). Do whatever you want in musical theater because they normally are stupid dances....and apparently all that TTB wants to see. Just horrific numbers winning. Finally, just received my comments and scores and they are a joke. Dances of mine that I know did not perform well out scored dances of mine that performed as close to perfect as I have ever seen. (The previous weekend at another competition, these dances were performed not as well and went platinum.) The judges comments were all \"I want the dance to look this way\" and not actually judging what they were watching. And believe me, two of the judges looked like they couldn\'t dance at any point in their lives. Just horrible and you will NEVER see my dancers there again and I will be sure to get the word out to every other studio that I know to avoid the joke that is Ticket To Broadway.

I'm so sorry you had such a poor experience with Ticket To Broadway. If you don't know, Ticket To Broadway is under new ownership as of the 2018 season and many of the issues you have listed here have been eradicated with a fully new staff and continuous effort to make TTB one of the most fun and enjoyable experience for directors and students! I really do hope you'll try the NEW Ticket To Broadway.

I have been to TTB 2 years now. Other dancers and I both loved TTB in the past. We were sent the schedule on Monday night of the whole day and today they sent out an email saying that the competion was cancelled due to a studio pulling out 100+ routines and that they did not have a place to hold the competition. It clearly states on their website that the had the location. So they lied to us, and if they did not have a location before the week of compeition, shouldn\'t they cancel and give is a heads up before we clear our schedules for this weekend? This was a big disappointment and unacceptable.

We recently attended the endless 3 day event in South Jersey and would love to have those days, entry fees and everything back for my dancers and their families and friends. I am a studio owner now but I have been part of the dance competition world for over 25 years...before everyone trophied. I understand judging. This judging was erratic. I knew it at the first awards ceremony. By Sat. I was with other studios watching excellent dances get high golds while lip syncs received Plat. They truly looked like recital/talent show dances. Never have more musical theatre/recital style dances received Plat. Routines from multiple studios the week before from another competition (rated 4 stars on this site)received hi golds while pantomines done comically went Plat. Some people were questioning the relationship to judging and amount of entries because some studios were huge...I don\'t care...all I know is I know when our dancers are judged fairly. They were NOT this weekend. The judging was ridulous and many excellent numbers were ignored from ours AND many other studios. I highlight them in my program as I watch. The top numbers were from way too many musical theatre and routines stuck in a time warp. In addition 3 day competitions...this was overbooked and endless in a terrible location. Hotels were horrible. TTB was fun in early years. They are still doing the same jokes and routines. Either get new material or stop. Introducing the dancers songs in stupid voices is disrespectful...especially if they are trying to do a moving routine. On a final note...the Circle of Stars ...not a biggy ...no one wants to go to Nationals. Studio owners skip this one...I know we won\'t be back.

first, i want to say we have attended this event several times, the first being 5 years ago and it was excellent! the children love how the announcers and staff make it so much fun for them and they love hearing their music played if they win 1st overall... however the 2nd time we attended 2 years ago it felt different and this past weekend was the worst I have ever been to! we were notified on Friday evening at 5:30 pm not even 24 hours before the comp was to start that it had been cancelled due to snow. They super of the school did not want to open it up. We had to cancel hotel rooms and break the news to our kids.. then and hour later got another email that it was back on but that it had a 6 hour delay. then at the event, I have never in my life seen such and old judge. This man had to be 80 years old and this is not fair to the young street dancer or the hip hop category or even jazz. to have someone like this critique their number! They scored very low and had no special awards. Then the night seniors danced, sunday they announce at 6 they had to be out of the school by 8 and whoever they got to, senior solos, would be who danced and not everyone will get a chance to dance and there will be NO award ceremony and the scores and trophies mailed to the studio. They said they would go in order and the didn\'t they put the LARGEST studio numbers before smaller schools and played favorites.. Very dissapointed in our entire year so far. I hope some improvements are made in this industry as I am losing faith.

Had a terrible experience this past weekend. Competition was delayed due to snow which caused a great deal of stress, then at the end of the last day we were told we needed to be out of the school in 2 hours, and that some senior soloists would not be able to perform!!!!! Our studio brought solos that were not able to perform which is just unacceptable. Not to mention there was not awards ceremony for seniors, which is disappointing to a Senior in High School with only a limited number of events and chances to do solos. We were told that trophys and adjucations would be mailed, along with refunds and cash awards...I\'m not going to hold my breath. On top of that scoring was off the wall. Recreational dances were scored unfairly, dancers with \"run offs\" we\'re placing in overalls? Really? Had many recreational dancers leave feeling discouraged. This whole event was run VERY unprofessionally and left many parents and dancers feeling discouraged. Overheard parents saying they never wanted to go back. So very very disappointing.

Worst competition I have ever gone to. Extremely unprofessional and the overall quality of the event was awful. Scoring system was confusing to say the least. The emcee would call the entries in funny voices which is extremely disrespectful to the dancers and choreographers. When we were sitting on stage for awards we couldn\'t even hear what the announcer was saying because the sound system could only be heard out in the audience. Take your students anywhere else.

We had really enjoyed the regionals the first two years we attended. This past summer we went to the nationals in Lancaster, PA. It was quite the disappointment. The hotel was so-so. The fitness center was a run down mess. The stage was nice enough, but even the vendors selling stuff were all in the auditorium, so it seemed like the hotel didn\'t want everyone seeing what was going on. The workshop classes were mediocre at best and not well promoted and the location not easy to find out about. Two of the classes were in carpeted side rooms, perhaps used as conference rooms, but very out of the way and not easy to find in the hotel. You would think they could put up some signs and post where the classes would be? Not just a white board in the auditorium, but a real sign? They seemed a little unprepared. My daughter was the only one from our studio to even take the classes. And if you hadn\'t made their special performance team, you were pretty much a second class citizen. The staff was fun and funny, but a little full of themselves. The owners are very nice, and I hope they don\'t take this as my being angry, but as advice as to how to make it better.
