The judging was very confusing and they are very biased towards dances. They loved tricks but not real movements.

Rude staff, confusing scoring, terrible announcement of overall winners. Very beginning competition, and not worth the investment.
this was another great smaller comp.... to ger you ready forthose bigger comps.
Kids had fun and it was very low key competition. whoever they had recording and doing the photography was hard to get a hold of to order a dvd but other then that it was great
We loved the classes they offered the girls on our team enjoyed it. Fun competition to start our season for our beginners age 4-6
We enjoyed this competition our was in Twin Falls Idaho hated the venue you had to walk a mile to find parking and having 2 kids plus all our stuff to carry not thought out on how many ppl would be attending for space. it was early in the competition season and just felt a lot of the teams didn\'t feel ready and the judges didnt give a lot of feedback on scoring
If I could give this competition a 0, I would! The staff/owner are incredibly rude and seem to forget that they are in business because of paying consumers! The awards are ridiculous, and confusing. If you ask the staff for an explanation about how the scoring is done, they can\'t even explain it to you. There is no scoring scale just a \"curve\" within each competition demographic based on the \"talent\" at that particular location/competition. Sound confusing? Thank you. The only reason many soloists continue to attend Releve is because of their large trophies. Save yourself the aggravation and degradation. Find another quality competition!

This competition was a complete waste of time and I wish as both a parent and dance teacher I could give it 0 stars! I have never met such unprofessional staff and such an inflexible competition! Several times parents from our studio overheard staff members talking negatively about other studios out in the main hallways and foyer. One of Releve\'s very young (high school) workers said to a group of parents, \"What? Am I talking to the air here? Do you not understand English?\" Several of the routines had very quiet music, and the sound technician just sat there and did not turn it up. You could see the kids onstage struggling to hear the music. As other reviewers have stated, the awards make absolutely no sense and even more than that, they announce an award placement for a team and the kids jump up to get their trophy and there are no awards given for groups at all (outside of a handful of confusing high points). Our studio dancers (both male and female) saw kids being forced to change in the wings in front of everyone in order for the competition to \"stay on time\". The competition did run on time, but at a very stressful cost to parents and dancers alike. The master class would have been a great addition to this competition, but it was held between the kids competition numbers. If any dancers overlapped in ages or divisions, they missed the classes. In addition, the Mini/Jr. dancers were dancing to lyrics about \"Pabst Blue Ribbon\", just the message we want to send to our 8 year olds! I think the Releve staff and owners need to realize that studios (parents) pay thousands of dollars for a positive and professional competition experience and they are not providing that experience. With so many other professional choices out there for dance competition, I would avoid this competition all together.
Why are the results for the Flanders NJ Comp not posted yet?
This is a competition as a dance parent I hope we do not attend in the future. Event runs on time but the management staff was extremely rude. Dressing rooms were a 5 minute walk away from the stage and the numbers for our group were too close together. Luckily our group had time to change in the dressing room but we had to RUN. They made another studio change in the wings rather than give then enough time to properly change in a dressing room. Unacceptable! Awards ceremony is terrible and makes no sense (as mentioned in another post). One positive we found was that they have nice trophies and participation award. Master class was nice bonus but scheduled in middle of day in between routines. I would not recommend this competition when there are so many other great options out there.
This competition offers master classes. That is great. I would suggest however, that the timing be changed so dancers that didn\'t have to compete until later in the day wouldn\'t have to come several hours early to take the class. For instance if the senior category starts at 6PM, then have their master class at 3:00 instead of 12:00. It is difficult to understand the awards. They skip all the dances that are winning a special award, and rate all the other dances with a color of diamond. Then they give an overall white, pink, etc winner in each age category. Are these awards the first second third and fourth overall, or are they simply the best of the diamond color they placed in. It would make it easier to understand if all the dances were given their diamond placement. It is also difficult for the dancers on stage to know what is going on. The competition gets an A+ for keeping to the schedule and timing.
This is a pretty good competition, I Like the bonus classes for the kids. The awards seem a little confusing and bit boring, maybe get the kids involved a little more. Lots of judges were local judges that know all the studios involved. But, saying that I hope they are professional enough that that wouldn\'t matter. They also miscalculated the overall studio award. They contacted our director the next day and said they would mail us the award we should have won. But overall it\'s a good competition.
Great organization.
