Was a good stepping stone for us into the competition world. We attended twice and were pleased. Great for the beginners in the competition world.

I attended this competition last year, in the middle of my competition season. This was definitely a lot different then the previous competitions I competed in. First, there was no stage, it was the \"dance floor\" of a meeting/ ball room. The floor was slippery (several kids fell or wobbled in turns), there was no wings, and not a lot of space. Our production number was very cramped with some kids stepping off \"stage\" quite a few times onto the carpet. In addition, judges gave out a lot of diamond and platinum awards with the except of maybe 5 gold for the entire competition. Some performances were definitely not this high in placement. However, the judges offered good feedback and gave out many nice awards. Furthermore, there was an instance where a mother from a team we were competing against was stealing from several teams including ours! Mothers on our team had money stolen, etc. Luckily someone caught this women in the bathroom but we were surprised how she was getting away with it for quite some time. Overall, this is a nice competition for those just starting!
Beautiful competitiin. Very well organized and wonderful staff. Motivates the dancer and encourages them to be the best they can be. No tension very relaxed atmosphere.
After attending this competition for the past 2 years, I have found it to be very relaxing and enjoyable ! The staff and owner are friendly and professional! Each dancer is made to feel that they are appreciated and taken seriously for their talents!! The judging was fair and non biased!! We ❤️Omega
LOVE THIS COMP! Great way to pump up your students, and parents! Wish there was a stage… but still love the comp. The director is such a nice and loving person that makes every dancer feel special! Would like to have maybe 2 awards ceremonies. Great comp fro starter dancers and experienced dancers. We will be bringing more to this next year!
We have attended this competition two years now! We have made this one part of our regular schedule! The director is very professional and extremely nice! This is a good comp for all levels of dancers!
This is a great competition for beginners especially. Although there were all levels, it definitely helps the beginners self esteem. The venue was great. Everything ran almost exactly on time. Everyone we talked to was very personable and nice...especially the girl calling numbers. The music was a bit off..sometimes too loud and sometimes the repeat button was on. However, my beginner girls had a great time and we would definitely do it again.
I was very disappointed in the Omega Dance Challenge. The diamond award category was given out frequently and not reserved for the highest level dancer. It seemed to be a \"feel good\" recreational competition. This is good for the novice level, but not for the advanced dancer. I often wondered if the diamond was \"real\" or \"fake\". The judges were accurate on their feedback, but somewhat generic. Did not like the paper score sheet. The competition was not on a stage. It was too small and my dancer literally ran out of room and almost tumbled into the trophy table. The judges also took too long to come up with scores. I am sorry to rate this competition so low, but it needs a lot of improvement.
Definetely the worst competition I\'ve experienced in my daughter\'s 8 years of competition dance. I thought about giving it only one star, but in the hopes that the folks that own and operate this competition will read this, I find two to be more appropriate because there were a few nice things about the experience. I\'ll start there 1) it was only one day. 2) venue was a hotel so it had many amenities that some competitions do not (food, coffee, clean bathroom facilities). 3)Lots of awards and trophies given out which is important to the younger girls--no plaques and ribbons for all. 4) the evening ended with dance performed by special needs children (never seen this before)-- it was both touching and humbling. On to the bad: 1) UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF/CREW starting with the owner and working all the way down to the girl handing out awards (one exception was the young lady who got the numbers on the \"stage\"). The woman running the show never left her chair! Shouted instructions ro her staff over the mic and never addressed her paying patrons!!! 2) Staging, lighting, sound, scoring system-- Um, there is none-- no stage (it\'s a slippery parkay floor that was NEVER SWEPT-- this is just plain unsafe for the dancers). Because there was no stage and the judges table obstructed the view, people were sitting on the floor in doorways (fire hazard) which we were made aware of continuously) but you simply could not see the dances from the majority of provided seating. Room was fully lit--very distracting to young dancers. Sound system terrible, music wrong, skipping or missing frequently. No computerized scoring!! Literally done on paper and added with a calculator. And, now overalls and no distinction between novice and competitive dances. 3) they allowed non-flash photography and video taping!! Did NOT appreciate total strangers being allowed to tape and photograph my child. And finally, the almost brawl between staff and a parent. YUCK. NEVER AGAIN, I HOPE
This was our first year at this comp and had such a blast! Even though there was ranking by score, each kid walked away feeling like a STAR!!! Very friendly and helpful staff. Enthusiastic judges who personalized the Judges Awards. My daughter even entered the photo contest, and even though she didn't win, she was awarded a medal that made her feel special. These folks go the extra mile to encourage kids to excel and reach higher. Very happy with our experience there! Great experience for a first-time competitor!
